Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Yup.
Its something else. Went for 4 billion. People are already talking about how Disney has the monopoly on things now. They already own so much as it is.

Look, on the plus side we might finally get a decent release of OT, and we can continue denying the existence of any other Star Wars films.

Lucas says "Its time to pass star wars onto a new generation of film makers"

    Which really means.

$4 Billion Dollars and **** star wars.

    Greedy Bastard

Well, I'm just going to see where Disney are going to go with it before announcing the apocalypse of cinema and all that.

The last trilogy of films were awful boring dross (with the exception of the 3rd one being watchable) and everybody would be bitching at Lucas if he came out with another Star Wars movie.

The next film is set on Mickey Mouse's homeworld. A planet of mickeys. Some are bigger than others

Why do grown ups give a sh*t about this? I don't get it. Is there really that much truth in the nerd fascinated with Star Wars cliche?

I can sense the force is weak within you.

How is less control for George Lucas (Jar Jar, those Vodafone adverts) a bad thing, especially when Disney have already done a brilliant job since taking over Marvel (Avengers movie)?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,166 ✭✭✭Beefy78

I think it's good news. Disney get a lot of stick but they also know how to buy an existing studio and let them get on with their own thing. Pixar being the obvious example there.

The best thing is that it wrestles control from Lucas who has gone a bit mental in recent times.
