I think it would be great if Ireland ran a new competition titled Ms Consevative of the year award for all the conservative women in Ireland. Points would be allocated on the following basis

    no sense of humour
    no alcohol intake
    not putting out
    feminist inclined
    conservative dress sense
waht the neighbours would think attitude
    pessimism
    gaa follower

and more i cant think of. It would be similar to the rose of tralee but emphasis would be added on how stuck in the past the winner is.

None of these things, either in isolation or combined, make a person conservative.

Maybe we should have a stupid thread award too.

I'd say the vast majority of Irish women aren't conservative.

Yeh if there's one thing conservatives are mad for, it's the feminism.

Further validation of my theory that a good lot of people who use these tedious labels don't even know what they mean.

Some folks think feminism means "Woman who is not quiet and timid" though.

Jesus you're all over the place. You're confusing the political belief of conservatism with someone who has a conservative personality-two very different things.also you throw in feminism, which has nothing to do with either and you also imply that all are dryballs and tough work to be around.

In my opinion true feminists are women who believe they are equal to men are cool to be around as they have outgoing personalities and aren't afraid to express opinions of speak up around men, they have confidence and I find conversation flows easily with them.
I think women with traditional values-the type who have tradional views about gender roles are hard work to be around and I find them boring.same goes for their exact opposite- the caricature feminist who are placard waving and aggressive towards men.i find myself défensive around these types but thank god theirs hardly any around.

Give me normal, confident women any day of thé week!
