Bread - Any Need For At All in Diet?

    Howdy folks,

Only discovered this forum recently and find it very interesting.

Changed my diet a bit recently, never had a particularly bad diet, but I've cut back on things like milk and bread, which I previously would have regarded as healthy enough.

My question now is, is there any need for any bread whatsoever in my diet?

I used to have slices of brown bread around ten am, but have cut these out and now have a bigger breakfast of a poached egg as well as porridge and an orange for breakfast , which keeps me going until lunch time(Is this too much for breakfast?)

Will white bread be banned in twenty or thirty years time?

I feel I am thinking a bit too much about bread!

I think the idea that bread and dairy are daily staples are one of the reason people nowadays have bad diets.

Limiting the intake of all breads will help stay healthy and definitely help with weight loss.

A quick search online can find loads of studies why bread (flour) is unhealthy and unnecessary.

And poached egg and some fruit seems like a good breakfast to me.

    No.

Doesn't seem that big in fairness.

Are you feeling good on this? If so, keep it up.

Doubtful. Food industry makes a fortune on it.

    It's all about the money!
