freezing rain.

    How can it rain when air temp is well below freezing? This morning it was -2, and chucking it down. Car completely covered in solid ice and our estate road a skating rink. Car was so frozen, left it home and walked to work.

    Dewpoint, upper air temp, thickness I think

    It was -2 only right at the surface, but from only a few metres up it would have been above 0, so rain there would have been liquid.

    A sounding would have looked like this.
