Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Wanted to pick another player but think Freddie Ljungberg fits into my style of play best. He has pace and trickery to unlock any defense and with Aguero and Ode up front I will be able to score goals. Carbon copy of my pires write up I know. 2001-2002 player of the year and all round heart throb

    Jurgen Klinsmann

One of the best strikers of the past 25 years. In his full season in the PL he was awarded the Football Writers Association Player of the Year and scored an impressive 21 PL goals. Will lead the line for me.

My legends pick is the greatest goalkeeper to play in the Premiership and one of the best of all time. He was a tough choice over others but I now have easily the best goalkeeper in the draft who is physically imposing and great at distribution too.

    Peter Schmeichel
    name-schmeicheljpg-views-1.jpg

My next pick is one of Swansea's new signings from this seasons and a huge success by all accounts. Johnathan De Guzman.

    Leon Britton

    15-Leon-Britton-crop.jpg

A good midfielder at this stage of the draft. Has been playing well as part of Swansea's midfield. Will keep and utilise possession well, and will compliment the more physical Mulumbu very nicely.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,993 ✭✭✭Trippie

This has been a tough pick, taking a risk in leaving a player I want until next round and 40 picks time. I choose Johnny Heitinga to partner Colo in defense. a former dutch player of the year, everton´s fans player of the year last season and another heartthrob to go along with freddie in previous round.

Need a player who can deliver a cross, pass well, and shoot off either foot.

Seb Larsson fits the bill nicely.

Just after realising that there's another player that'll fit right into my midfield to provide exactly what I need in terms of a defensive minded midfielder, Tom Huddlestone.

Not quite as well know as the previous picks but my next pick is Morgan Schneiderlin.

Excellent with the interception and in the tackle, an great passer with a good range and has 2 goals already this season, not bad for a defensive midfielder.

    Morgan+Schneiderlin+Manchester+City+v+Southampton+5OMQG9mklycl.jpg
He's no Makelele, but he's certainly worthy of a place in any EPL team.

    Sylvain-Distinrudsoccers.jpg

Sylvain Distin, named Everton's players' player of the year last season. Still performing at a relatively high level and one of the few good centre backs left in the draft.

    Oscar
    Cazorla
    Nasri
    Makelele

    Assou-Ekotto
    Distin

Next two picks; A double hit of Spanishness José Enrique and David De Gea.

    d0aee4e2-4c1e-47e0-bc33-aa994121907b_c4272bbd-aa34-49e9-ae9e-95a39e0e00ed.jpg

I was unsure of this pick. Then I saw himvs Chelsea and he was imperious at left back. Not so great going forward that game but my god he was like a brick wall at the back for against Chelsea that game. That'll do. If he keeps playing like that he'll make this pick at the bottom of the ninth round look silly. Its an if though.

    david-degea_2129637c.jpg

Remember that save? One of the main reasons why I'm picking De Gea. Unbelieveable shot stopper and has matured and come on leaps and bounds since his arrival in England. Has the potnetial to be a superstar goalie, its beginning to come out at the moment. LLoris was my first choice but he just about didn't make it to me I'm afraid.

    De Gea
    Rb----Nastasic
    Agger
    Enrique
    Sandro

    Granero
    Dembele
    Milner
    Young
    Shearer

    Simon Mignolet.

Been in fine form thus far.

  • Registered Users Posts: 958 ✭✭✭eugeneious

About time I chose my GK. I believe this guy is still one of the top 'keepers in the league and it's testament to his ability that he went so long without missing a PL game and is still giving Lloris a run for his money for the number 1 jersey. Brad Friedel.

    Michel Vorm.

I'm happy to take Fabio da Silva.
Versatile, aggressive and dangerous in attack he's still learning his trade on loan but has shown what he can do and earned a place in Man Utds champions league final xi. I expect he'll be a super player when he gets the chance to be first choice left back.

on the phone now, can't post a photo.

Absolutely delighted to pick this fella up at this stage. Can't think of a player more universally well liked at all the clubs he's been at. A very versatile player who still offers a lot of energy and skill despite getting on a bit .... Yossi Benayoun

A solid young keeper will do quite nicely, happy to have Wojciech Szczęsny between the sticks.

last season he switched to LB for Newcastle and did very well keeping Santon out of the 1st team lineup. Hopefully he can be just as effective for me now and being a deadball specialist who can cross in a quality ball from an attacking FB position will be helpfull too.
    Ryan Taylor

In work so not much time and no pictures, my picks will add some muscle to my team. Stephane M'bia and Mahomadou (sp?) Diarra. If either are already picked just go ahead and i'll update later.

    Schmeichel
    Maicon--Mbia--Koscielny--Evra
    Diarra

    De Guzman--Sahin
    -Gerrard
    Dempsey
    RVP

    Shaun Maloney.

Easily Wigan's most creative player. Has suffered in recent games from being double marked whenever in possession as he has been identified as Wigan's main creative outlet. A brilliant end to last season and one of Wigans best two players this year with 4 assists.

In work again so no pic and I will post my formation etc tomorrow when i get in from college

My final pick is a player I really like

    Wes Hoolahan

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 22,866 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

He was recently Wigan's player of the season and only yesterday did I read an Arsenal fan posting that they should sign him. Considering how larte in the draft we are I think I could def do worse than drafting Ali Al Habsi

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,907 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

For my last pick I'm taking a player who is currently injured but will be back as good as new no doubt. Marc Wilson has established himself as a very good Premier League player and, hopefully, a mainstay in the Ireland squad for the coming years. He'll slot in nicely at left back.
