Excessive condensation on Windows in bedroom

Hi, just wanted to see if there was an architect or someone who could tell me about an excessive amount of condensation on my bedroom window every morning. Now I know the weather is getting colder and my breath would be warm hitting the cold window, but, the WHOLE window does be soaking wet every morning. The room is a garage conversion, and the coldest room in the house (old house). But i just wanted to see if the cause of the amount of wet on the window is a lack of something, ie. insulating, ventilating? Also it's starting to cause mould and mildew to build up on the windowsills.
    Please help.

    1. is there any permanent ventilation grills, and if so, have you checked to see if they open and clear from obstruction?
    2. what kind of window have you? single glazed? double glazed?
    3. if double glazed does any condensation form in the gap between the panes?
    4. do you pull heavy curtains across this window in the evening?
