    I received an infraction for a post I made on AH.

    I PM'd the mod in question to inquire about the issue. I was ignored. I PM'd him again the next day to which he replied with a rather insinuating comment that I did not appreciate. I PM'd him a response to which I was again ignored.

    I feel this infraction was unjust.
    Though flunitrazepam is often cited as a date rape drug because of its high potency, strong effects and the ability to cause strong amnesia during its duration of action, investigations into its actual use as a date rape drug have contradicted popular belief. Test results indicated that flunitrazepam was used in only around 1% of reported date rapes, according to Robertson and 0.33% according to urine lab tests done by El Sohly.
    Although flunitrazepam has become widely known in the USA for its use as a date-rape drug, it is used more frequently as a recreational drug. It is often used by high school and college students, rave party attendees, and heroin and cocaine users for recreational purposes, including:
    To produce profound intoxication
    To increase sedative effect in combination with heroin (or any other opiate) and/or get desired effects from a smaller dose, or ease the anxiety and/or sleeplessness of withdrawal
    To counteract the side-effects of stimulants (e.g., insomnia, paranoia, jitteriness)
    To "soften" the so-called "crash," which follows heavy usage of stimulants, such as cocaine or methamphetamine

    As we can see from the following extracts flunitrazepam or rohypnol has been given a bad name. It used more as a recreational drug as opposed to anything else. My comment referred to rohypnol being used to make it easier to interact with people while intoxicated, like many chose alcohol to ease the process of talking to strangers at a party.

    If my comment was changed to alcohol would have I received an infraction? Alcohol is used far more prevalent in sexual assaults than rohypnol.

    Ah here, you made a rape joke, you know it was one, so too did the mods and so do I. After Hours doesn't tolerate such jokes.

    A much better defense would have been to hold your hands up and say it wouldn't happen again.

    The infraction is legit, maybe think about how you phrase comments in the future.

    I'm obviously not going to do it again, and if I knew I was going to be infracted for it I never would of posted it at all.

    Surely an infraction is a tad bit harsh. A warning would of sufficed and would be a better solution.

    I have no grounds to reverse it.

    If you approach the infracting mod with a more open, honest approach, they may be able to do something for you. It is completely up to their discretion though.

    I PM'd the mod in question and I am just getting ignored again. I didn't want to bring this up but as I feel the punishment was too severe and the blatant ignoring going on I will.

    Here are some comment I found just in AH alone that are the exact same as my comment. There are a few mod there also, one of which I could not quote. This is only 5 pages worth out of about 35. I can't be bothered giving any more.

    Judging by some of the usernames you quoted those comments are not exactly current. And that's the great thing about history, we learn from it. Boards.ie has little to no tolerance for rape jokes, so don't make one again. Consider this your own piece of history to take a leaf from.
