Cleaning a Horwood Marble pestle & mortar

    Hi all,

    I have this pestle and mortar which I used today for the first time and now that I need to clean it, I am unsure whether it can be washed in the sink in hot water with fairy washing liquid? As it can be put into a dishwasher, I am assuming sink washing is perfectly OK.

    I've heard before that marble things can't be washed, only wiped out, how true is this? I want to check before I wash mine and possibly destroy it.

    BTW, I got mine in TKMaxx, Blanchardstown for €6.99, a fair bit cheaper than HS&M. ;)
