Madigans kicking has been very poor.

    Definitely was illegal.

    Oh FFS.

Great break by Macken, but it ends in another knockon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Good stuff from Macken but then sloppy...

Moore for Hagan? Hagan did really well.

    I hate playing the Osprey's...

Lads honest to god, Fionn Carr is a great athlete but utterly brainless.
I hate needlessly whinging about a player but he's shown it time and again.

I really fear the season we get the Ospreys in the HEC group

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,978 ✭✭✭✭irishbucsfan

Why are we keeping the ball for that many phases? Play the ****ing conditions

What's this in relation to? He put his in great field position there with a great little chip over the top. Then carried a couple of times.

    Moore for Ireland

Decision making has been shocking. Have to wonder what Jennings has been saying to the players

Its not just Carr making bad decisions, half the team have been doing it all game. At least he's trying something.

Nope sorry, he's shown on so many occasions in a Leinster jersey, and so many times alone tonight. Not up to it. Stupid chip kicks, inability to finish, that stuff before half time, and as I speak he kicks a loose ball back infield.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,883 ✭✭✭shuffol

In his few appearances for Leinster I dont think I can recall Moore ever looking in trouble in a scrum, fantastic talent.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,327 ✭✭✭Profiler

Can't see us winning this now, no lack of headless chickens but a real lack of leaders.

    (edit)

Drop goal kicked. Game over... yet another game against the Osprey's where we throw it away, we should beat them and we manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

    Drop-goal should win it...

Ospreys offside all the time at rucks.

Ospreys by far the better team. Their pack is so well organised.

No, he kicked the ball away for no reason when he should have come back inside and set up a ruck. Just look at that last kick too. Schmidt must be pulling his hair out.

need a score to salvage the lbp

Good dropgoal. Completely unfazed by the onrushing Leinster defense. Leinster are beating themselves.

When is Dominic Ryan back from injury?

They're a ****ing disaster today, awful stuff.

Really sloppy performance from us, which is what's lost it for us, but ref has been terrible. Missed the illegal throw for the try, the Ospreys physio interfering, lots of missed offsides. Hasn't helped...

Wrong. He chipped it over the top and we got the ball back in great field position. He did well there. Stop looking for reasons to criticise him.

According to coach at my local club, McGrath and Moore are the future Irish props so I'm hoping for a scrum now to test his hypothesis!

No that's your opinion, you can't say it's wrong just because you think that way! :p

We didn't get the ball back either, and the subsequent kick back infield is mini rugby stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

The team can take some of the blame, but Lacey has put in an absolute joke performance. Ospreys try was illegal, hardly ever called Ospreys in the scrum, even when it should've been a penalty try, and Conway being pulled back for a couple of seconds after chipping through.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Aside from a great start, Leinster have been truly muck tonight. Ospreys seem to have that effect on both Munster and Leinster!

Carr didn't have a great day but he shouldn't be a scapegoat, nor the referee.

Disappointing, Avua let the side down bigtime popping up from dominant scrums

Yes we did, we got the ball back because they kicked it to us straight afterwards. Because they had been put under pressure by the chip into their 22.

You are wrong in my opinion, is that not ok?

    **** the Ospreys.

We are hopeless this year. Don't know what it is.

I think the Leinster front row were good, particularly Hagan. Boss was very good in the first half, was decent in the 2nd half. Dave Kearney was also good under the high ball.

There were flashes of good stuff from Macken, Goodman, Ruddock, Toner but not enough over the entire game. Real lack of leadership and so many bad decisions.

What?! We got the ball back because they kicked it to us, far far away down the pitch.

You're fine to have the opinion, but you're misrepresenting the facts.

It was wet conditions, we had the squeeze on up front, he should have held the ball and built the pressure.

    Wrong.
    ;)

Serious lack of good leadership out there. We played to Ospreys strengths today and not our own. Incredibly disappointing stuff. We didn't deserve anything from the game really.

I thought Madigan was shown up tonight. He looks great on front-foot ball, but he has a lot to learn when it comes to controlling a game in the rain when his pack isn't completely on top.

I'd agree with that. His break and feet get him out of positions, but he and Auvaa didn't control the game at all.

Madigan has a long way to go yet.

Best performance from Macken in quite a while.

Made some good breaks and tackled pretty well.

Still needs to pass more though.

Mcgrath and Moore's cameos were very encouraging. Mcgrath would be in the Irish squad now if we was playing regularly.

I agree to a certain degree T. However reading some of the posts on here I have to wonder if any of the "experts" have actually pulled on a pair of shorts?

The 'ref did little wrong, he's part of the game, same as the wind & the rain.
Leinster had enough ball & ops to close that game out. They didn't. Can't blame the 'ref or the O's for that.
Ospreys were piss poor but in view of all the gifts Leinster gave them they would have been fools not to take adv.
    Leinster were the fools.
To believe otherwise is to be blinded by blue tinted glasses.

Btw, before the attacks come pouring in, I had money on Leinster tonight.

    I lost.

    My mistake.

Its a joke to blame madigan, his tackling and running was brilliant throughout. Leinster lost because of silly mistakes and a bad ref decision. 3 tries left on that pitch, Leonster should have gotten a win and a 4 try bonus point in fairness to them

Yeah but he's still young. And there's no shame in being behind Healy and VDM.

We could easily have won that game if we'd played the ball properly. Madigan still has major issues with playing games like that. We went through far too many phases and we were always going to make mistakes in those conditions.

There were still positives to take. Scrum went excellently (apart from Auva'a). I thought Macken and Goodman looked good together, I had worries about our defense in the backs but they looked much better. I thought Marshall and Toner were fairly omnipresent which was great to see. Boss was good as well.
