Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not at the other end though at Old Trafford. Anyways Rooney missed, should have been RVP

Mike Dean will give United another chance from the spot in the second half.

I'm baffled at the notion that there were people saying that wasn't a peno.

Why even bother watching the game and annoying the rest of us if you think the game is fixed?

Did the ball hit the Arsenal players hand ?

Dont go making something out of nothing . . It was a peno, I know certain fans like to have pathetic excuses for certain results, but Im afraid your comments are ridiculous in the context of the decision . .

It was a clear penalty, I'm saying this as an Arsenal fan

Hahaha at everyone saying RVP should have taken it.

Santos must not be coming on again?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,825 ✭✭✭Mikeyt086

RVP on the other hand, has already missed 2 for United this season. Which is why he is not taking penalties. Wayne Rooney on the other hand scored his 5 previous. That's why.

I don't even cheer when we are awarded penalties any more.

    Fúcking bizarre stance

The neutrals are saying it wasn't a peno either, as do the rules.

Would like to see Ando on for Carrick, Carrick's passing has been a bit wayward.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,394 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

No, the fact that they're kicking them means they're kicking them. United are outplaying Arsenal completely which is why I find the fouling and kicking surprising, seems little need for it.

well I've seen 2 bad tackles from United and 1 from Arsenal. Don't know what game you're looking at and they've all been punished.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,508 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Crinklewood

Probably the easiest first 45 mins that Utd have had this season. Penalty miss could come back to bite them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,984 ✭✭✭Soups123

Who's Jersey was that Santos walked down the tunnel with? RVPs??

Clear peno, anyone saying anything different is fooling themselves.

    Show me the rule.

I'm a qualified ref by the way, but I'd like you to show me the rule.

    Thanks

Arsenal never win at Old Trafford, and never win with Mike Dean in charge.
United also always get penalties against Arsenal every match. Hardly a coincidence.

It will all come out soon enough. Clattenberg was the first of many to be caught.

If Arsenal players are going to handle the ball in the box, the refs shouldn't give penalties, is that what you are saying?

No, the ball hitting you on elbow by your side whacked at you from 3 yards away isn't a peno or handball. If it hit your hand it's not handball either.

United should be home and dry by now, all over Arsenal. Let's just hope that somehow they end up regretting their wastefulness from the first half!

Justice done by the peno not been scored.

    Never a peno for me.

if you have your arms raised like that and the ball hits you, then you are asking for trouble,it was lazy defending by Cazorla...he should have been braver trying to block the ball.

Nice state from BBC. 10 penalties awarded in games between Arsenal and United in the Wenger era....all at Old Trafford and six have been missed

Mr. DB10, what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this thread is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Incorrect, the hands, and obviously arms, moved to block the path of the ball.

    In the box.

    Penalty.

It looked like he asked RVP for his jersey but I could be wrong

Arsenal have been dire so far,Utd look comfortable but haven't pushed on from the first goal, must try and get Tony V into the game more and take on Santos it hasn't happened enough times in that first half, been impressed with Evra in the first half anything he has had to do he has done it which is a nice change, the penalty decision could have gone either way but them kind of incidents are given these days even if it looked like Carzola was trying to protect his face, anyway Rooney missed so that should keep the "Utd get all the decisions brigade" happy.

Arsenal have some lovely ball players in midfield but were lacking a threat up front in the first half.
