yeah, it was a handball, so of course it's a pen. his arms were raised, if they had have been tight to his body then it wouldn't have been a peno but there was air between his arms and body, thus he used his arms to obstruct the ball

Where is the consistency though, they are a pen one week and not another week.

I'd say Liverpool fans are disappointed the penalty incident didn't go the other way so they could get their Suarez joke in.

No they didn't, his elbow was struck, and didnt move between the ball being hit and striking him, so unless he sensed the ball would end up exactly there and moved his hand there in advance its impossible for it to have been deliberate.
Apart from the actual rule, it stopped the ball from hitting him in the stomach not from going anywhere else and no-one could describe it as deliberate handball.

As for the qualified ref malarkey, maybe you should retake the exams?

Definite penalty for me anyway. Why do United get more penalties against Arsenal? Because they spend a lot of time attacking in our box, whereas at the other end they either force us to do most of our work outside it or we choose to!
