Are you scared of the dark?

I am fairly terrified of it. I'm usually fine if there's someone else with me but when I'm alone I need to make sure all the lights are turned on or else my imagination starts to **** with me...

Is being scared of the dark something that's innate to everyone or is it just because I watched too many scary films when I was young? I find it fascinating when someone can simply walk into a dark place or sleep alone with all the lights turned off without getting scared of the darkness...

Yes, I don't leave lights on, but I need to know where all lightswitches are, and prefer to go to sleep with at least one light on.

I find it peaceful. Especially walking alone in the dark somewhere, like woods or something.

Being alone in dark woods would be like an absolute nightmare for me...
Would constantly be thinking of something like in the Blair Witch Project or some vicious animal that's stalking me all the time waiting for the right moment to pounce upon and eat me!

Doesn't bother me sleeping in the pitch dark, wouldn't have all the lights in the house off at night or any shíte like that though!

yep, there is nothing better than turning the lights off after getting into bed and its pitch balck dark. i love it and you can instantly feel your eyes relaxing

I would be like that myself, I love going hunting in the dark. Then again I have a rifle or a shotgun with me so nothing to be afaird of. However, I find the darkness very tranquil, even in the house I perfer the lights off.

You have to remember that it feeds on your fear, if you get scared it will attack

Yep but only if im going to sleep and if im on my own, I need some kind of light whether its my actual light, lamp, laptop or TV, then im fine. :)

I don't really mind it, it's peaceful. I went on the ghostbus tour the other night and we were walking around an old graveyard in almost total darkness, it was so awesome


Also I need total darkness to go to sleep, it wrecks my head when someone leaves the bathroom light on.

Once I'm inside the house & all the doors are locked then I'm usually ok. Provided I'm not in the horrors from drink & end up hearing/ imagining things that aren't there.


But if for any reason I have to get into my car when it's dark I always check the back seat & lock the doors. When I'm back at home I get inside as quick as I can & I could often press the clicker thing to lock the car five or six times, just to be sure.
Interestingly enough I have no qualms about walking around a graveyard at night, in fact I'd urge people to try it, it's incredibly peaceful & quiet.

I hate walking home into my apartment in the dark. The hall light was broken for a couple of days during the week, and when I came home from work in the evenings, I had to prop open the apartment door with my handbag long enough to rush down and turn on my bedroom light, then go back again to get my bag and lock the door.

I don't mind the dark when I'm in bed at night - I much prefer sleeping in a completely dark room. I can sleep fine with the light on too, though. Sometimes do that if I'm on my own and hear creepy noises.

It's not the dark that's scary, in itself. It's just the fact that, obviously, you're far more vulnerable when it's dark and you can't see anything.

It's more the case of fearing what is in the dark than the dark itself.

Am the same...any little crack of light under the door drives me nuts. I wear an eye sleep mask and all because i love nothin better than a pitch black bedroom to sleep in.
