Hi all, finally made the jump and bought myself a camper...a Hymer C524. It has everything i need in it except for one love to have thing. I would like to fit roof bars (and ladder) that would take a couple of kayaks or maybe a roof box. Can this be done and if so is it a job best left to the pros? I am a handy DIYer so not afraid to take it on if it is a job that can be done without specialist tools.

    Hi
im guessing you bought it on donedeal in the last week? i saw it, very nice, the ladder would be straight forward, but i would get pro advice before piercing the roof skin. no specialist tools needed, stainless steel fixings , bond and seal mastic (Wurth)

Ya got it from done deal. Happy out. was thinking the same re piercing the roof..I'd be kicking myself if it started leaking. I have seen rails with seperate cross bars and ladder in Donagheys online shop but was wondering is it possible to get them complete as one unit. Might not make a difference but in my mind would be a more sturdy unit.
