    Can't do table either 4.56/4.30
Running in the dark last night saw me trip and fall which has left me with one bruised swollen knee and the other cut to shreds. Glad I've still nearly 3 weeks cos there will be no running this week :-(

Bad luck Deedee but at least you have time to heal :) Other than that how's the training been going?

Well, subject to change*; myself and Blocky are 2 of them

    * i say subject to change as due to injuries and dropouts pacers might have to be switched about/substittuted. There should be a confirmed list about a week before the race and I'll ask the boss if we can post a full list of pacers here then...

    Howdy strangers.

It is I Leclerc Pageant Messiah :pac:

I wanted to say hi and let you all know that the Messiah has been laid to rest and unlike the real one won't be coming back. :)

I wasn't exactly a regular reader of the forum here and indeed have been out of running in general for the last few months so apologies for the at times late updating of the spreadsheet. :o What I have read though along the way has been inspiring to say the least and I want to wish you all the best of luck and hope you get the rewards your training deserves in the upcoming races.

Personally speaking I've been easing back into the running very gently over the past few weeks with some short 3/4/5k runs and injuries seem to be behaving themselves. So although I am miles behind the group in terms of progress I'm happy enough to be back at it and will hopefully catch up with you over the next year. DCM 14 is my long term goal.

Pacing Mule is the new name. I felt that Pageant Messiah as a username here has a history and persona (at least to those outside this group) that I want to leave behind and take a fresh start at things. I gave it a bit of thought before picking Pacing Mule. Criteria was to keep a name that had a P and M as most of you guys would refer to me as PM, and hopefully get some sort of racing terminology in there too. Mule comes in as a nod to past personas that have been as stubborn as mules. ;) Pacing a nod to running and the running forum. Mules tend to be slower than horses and are stubborn creatures however in some circumstances can actually match and beat horses. Here's an old story about a pacing mule I found interesting. For the moment I don't mind being the mule but I do intend to race you horses some day :)

Best of luck again folks with the upcoming races. Am very jealous of you !

Was in two minds about doing the session tonight as I was home late from work so subsequently didn't get out till 10pm. As there was a risk that work would get in the way tomorrow if I postponed it I decide to get out and do it. Original plan was to do 10PMP with a few extra easy thrown in. But as it was so late I decided that if I could get 10 quality MP miles in, it would be a good nights work for me.

    PMP is 9min/mi

    10.38mi @8:51

    So MP miles were :8:26,8:45,8:54,8:58,8:56,8:49,8:48,8:57,8:48,8:47

A lot of the miles were faster than MP...please forgive me Meno for that but felt like I needed to do this albeit there was an element of risk. I'm really happy with the run and it felt comfortably hard for the last few miles.

Easy miles now for rest of week including last LSR on Sunday (20 miles)

Welcome back PM. Also no clue about spreadsheets sorry. Pb 4.57 hoping for around the 4.30 mark. Training has been hit and miss so not sure what is possible to be honest. Brought all my times in race series down significantly so hoping that reflects in marathon time too.

Did Meno's 14m @MP session last night as id done about 11ish miles last week midweek at MP.
    Paces were 07:40, 07:37 ,07:44 ,07:40 ,07:44 ,07:37 ,07:42 ,07:42 ,07:56, 07:35 ,07:42 ,07:49 ,07:43 ,07:42.
I probably ran this a few seconds quicker than I should have (overall ave was 7.43/mile) but I went by feel and it did feel easy, dare I say it, pleasant even!
Very happy with how it went and it was a decent confidence booster as it was pain free and I felt like I was holding myself back a wee bit too.

Can somebody please add me to table too? Thanks. PB 3.34, aim 3:29:xx| Very happy with training, hope goes to plan on day

Did the 14@MP this evening, pace was too fast but I really find it hard to go by feel on these runs. I really don't enjoy looking at the watch all the time. Such a beautiful evening for a run and I def found it easier this evening with the drop in temperatures, Im usually very dehydrated after the midweek sessions but am allot better this evening. Splits were: 7.39/7.36/7.44/7.37/7.40/7.43/7.42/7.29/7.47/7.35/7.37/7.50/7.47/7.30, overall average pace 7.40 so again way faster than it should have been . Luckily we will have top class pacers to follow on the day :)

Thanks a mill Meno for adding me. That would be the dream alright but anything that will be under the 3.30 will def be a gold medal for me. I'm notorious for going off to fast in races and dying a death then, so am determined to stick to the planned paces.
Was thinking this evening during the run what will be the goal after DCM. I remember last year I was a bit down cos had no short term goal, but in the end that didn't matter anyways as injury put me out for a few months after. Anyone have anything in mind whats next on their to do list?

With marathon fitness, you are definitely in a position to take a chunk off your PB's over the shorter distances. Maybe focus on a Half in the new year but in the meantime race any 5-10ks you can find (once recovered).
Just try to keep up reasonable mileage and do the odd session.

I took a big chunk off my 10k time after DCM last year so will be aiming to do same this year. Will do the same to my 5k time hopefully at one of the park runs and then the next big goal is London 2014. Got very lucky in the ballot.

Well I'm out! Back with physio today and been advised not to run with my knee. Getting sore on high mileage runs. I'm going to be sensible for once and take advice given. I can still run but he says the marathon could damage it further and could result in pain everytime I run. Not too disappointed as my training wasn't as great as I hoped. Missed a good few runs. I will be a very enthusiastic supporter this year instead!!
