Question of MPC versus Ableton.

    Hey!

I'm just wondering is it worth getting an MPC if I own Ableton (fully licenced)?

Been tempted to buy an MPC 500 or 1000 (for gigging also), but had to stop myself a few times after weighing out the cons and pros.

    What do you all think?

I want it to mess around with beats, but also to use live for programmed drums.

    Looking forward to your replies!

    Thanks :)

Just wait until new year for the Ableton 9 release and dedicated push controller? :)

That actually does look class :).

Can you upload samples onto it and use it for gigging without being hooked up to a computer do you know?

It has to be connected - If you want stand alone, then MPC is the way :) - but then it's bulky etc... The 'Push' looks like a good machine to take out with a small laptop - Then it's a question of latency/Audio breakout boxes.
