Have searched and searched but no joy,
I know this question is very subjective but here goes. I'm always worried we don’t have enough put away for the rainy day :(
What is the average savings a 40-year couple with 3 kids should have?
Only talking about actual cash not pensions etc.
    Thanks

Personally ours is in the credit union, no loans out with them at the moment but we never know when we may need an extra help, we have 12K saved

I've seen a rule of thumb that you should have 3 months net salary in the bank for a rainy day.
