i have been thinking about how to get my teeth whiter i have been told to get it done by laser but is this bad for my teeth and it cost 100euro see i dont mind giving the money but will this damage my teeth or is their anything els i can do as iam only 17 and would really like to have whiter teeth thanks

The stain shield ones are great if you have sensitive teeth (the other ones can make sensitive teeth ache a bit). They also dont need to be worn for long which is another bonus!

So bad for your teeth. If you do it at the wrong time you're just scrubbing away enamel.

Only if used in excessive amounts

Used in moderation it is a perfectly safe dental abrasive, is used in plenty of whitening toothpastes and was recommended to me by a dentist.

The other poster is right,If you brush your teeth within 2 hours after a meal you are brushing away tiny pieces of your own tooth enamel..!!!!Its better to wait at least 4 hours,before brushing again,and with sweet treats and brushing hard you can even contribute to tiny holes in your teeth that get bigger and infected and turn into cavities..You can find all this out on dentalfearcentral.org,it gives you lots of information on how your teeth work,and whats best for them dietwise.

Having healthy teeth is a lot more important than having white teeth with a worn out enamel from excessive scrubbing,or bleaching,remember you only have one set of teeth,and having teeth pulled is a pain,a lot of pain..!


FYI,i used to be a big,big bleaching fan when i was younger,now ive laid off it a bit,as ive noticed my enamel is not what it used to be,i have gotten worn enamel just at the bottom of my teeth and if it wears anymore it will just look odd,so ive scaled back on bleaching,i only do it once in a blue moon or not at all,and ive laid of coffee and orange juice i mainly stick to water or sparkling water..All this stuff helps..Another thing i use now is a soft toothbrush,as i have been scrubbing my teeth all through the years,and went to the dentist recently,i had to get two teeth removed and a further two at the back,the dentist said all my front ones were suffering from attrition over brushing,and if i did anymore i would be wearing away the rest of my enamel,so she gave me a free soft toothbrush..

Bleached White teeth dont mean healthy teeth!
