Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

iTunes Charges

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, feel free to move if it's more suited to elsewhere.

I bought a couple of apps from the iTunes store the other day using an O2 money card as I had a few euro on it. The apps downloaded without a problem and I'm able to use them on my iPod touch without any problems either.

Yesterday I tried to update some apps I'd purchased previously via the iTunes store in my iPod, but was told that I needed to enter my billing information. I did this but it said that it wasn't valid. So I checked the transaction history on the O2 card, and it told me that there was 1.98 taken off from the iTunes store, and then a few failed transations of 1.78.

I'm not sure where this figure of 1.98 is coming from as I only bought 2 apps which were 89c each. I checked my history in my iTunes account and it only came up with the 1.78 from the two apps - which seemingly hadn't gone through. Does anyone know what might have happened, or who I should get in touch with to sort this?

Anytime you add payment info to iTunes they charge a refundable 1.98 to verify the card. You won't be able to update any app until the payments go through fully.

Sounds as if you didn't have enough on the money card for the verification charge and the apps. Either that or the card won't work properly with the iTunes Store. Afaik it doesn't work with PSN store. Easiest way out is probably buy an iTunes topup card in tesco Hmv etc,

The above is correct. How much was on the card and how much did you spend? After a few days the charge will be returned to the card and the €1.98 will become available again. So maybe wait until then and try the card again and it should work ok.

Ah okay, that explains a lot! There was only 2.50 left on the card which is why the other payment wouldn't go through. So does this mean that the 1.98 will be returned to the card and I can use that then to pay for the apps, or should I top the card up?

Yeah that should be the process. Just give it a few days and all will be sorted. But until then you can't update apps. Also don't delete the card from your account or anything because it'll go through the whole thing again.
