Losing OUR Regional Hospital

    Hi from Waterford,
    Is anyone in Wexford outraged about the threatened downgrading of Waterford Regional Hospital and the breakup of the South-East Hospitals Group? If this goes ahead, people in Wexford will have to travel to already over-crowd Dublin hospitals for acute services rather than to Waterford Regional.
    This is not like the VEC relocation; Waterford's loss IS Wexford's loss too on this one, in fact it will be a disaster for the entire South-East region which the government are intent on breaking up anyway.
    A march is being held in Waterford to protest about it next Saturday details on;

    Come down and support Wexford's acute regional hospital or why not organise a local protest? After all you've got the senior govt. minister and like all politicians, Minister Howlin hears it best from those who's votes he depends on.

    Minister Howlin hears it best from those who's votes he depends on

    Not true. He listens to no one in his constituency.

    He has never done a tap for the people down there in Wexford as a TD or as a current and previous minister.

    Nor has Paul Kehoe for that matter, or Liam Twomey, don't mention Mick "Joke" Wallace.

    Wexford politicians have a massive lack of guts and guile once they step foot into Leinster House.

    I hear you vicwatson, we've also had a bellyfull of bullsh1t from our local T.D.'s in Waterford too which is why we're taking to the streets and asking people elsewhere in the S.E. to join us on an issue which will have major consequences for Wexford.

    Great to see such a big number today - though not sure if this was more important than the referendun that was taking place today? Seems like this issue is more important to people yet I think both have equal standing.

    It's time "this" "government" did something different and started listening to the people that live here as opposed to people who are dictating from outside.:mad:

    90 years of pure ****e in Wexford politics and Dublin politics and Irish politics in this country.

    Bah Bah Bah. Shower of bastards all.

    Rant over.

    It's important for long term health care that everybody in the South-East supports the campaign to keep WRH as a centre of excellence. Do we want to be pushed into already crowded Dublin & Cork hospitals.
