    Hi All,

I'm a bit of a crafter (intermediate) do some bag making and sewing and knitting.

I'm being made redundant next year, and someone has suggested to me that I retrain in college, and do a course in Textiles or Crafting. It's something I'm seriously considering, but wondering if anyone here has done anything like this before, and were they able to make a living afterwards, or what kind of employment opportunities would be out there for this kind of thing.

People are saying to me "You'll never have this chance again" but I don't want to waste my chance either.

Just a bit confused/afraid, and looking for a bit of advice

    Thanks in advance

Have you tried the Crafts Council for further information?
    Their website is http://www.ccoi.ie/

They also have a section on their website about Training and Education, with downloadable guides on craft as a career, which could be of use to you.
