    He was still showing people how to make their own up to a few months back. However, I think the Wheelworx talks were to be his last for a while. All 1 to 1 stuff going forward from what I understand.

    He doesn't use them himself, so figured that he probably wouldn't advocate them at all these days. Last talk was when he had the 32 marathon guys with him so obviously they'd have been doing it all a little differently to the rest of us who are just training.

    KQ came out of the shop with practically a full dinner for himself.

    Ah here, it was only a couple of sausage rolls. Im experimenting with the bike nutrition anyway :D

    RQ, I am really surprised you can remember anything about that talk. You spent the whole time staring at poor ken and not listening to Barry. You must have gotthe notes afterwards or something ;)

    And sure who can blame me? I appreciate a pretty face.

    This thread has actually made me read up on this more and like with anything it's all contradictory articles. Though most of it seems to centre around high-fat diets with carb loading before events rather than protein/fat rich diets in training and events and ignoring the Murphy/McDonald look at getting the right type of carbs in post-training/race.

    You've probably already seen this if you've been looking into Barry's stuff John, but explains his stuff well;

    Had a good article on intermittent fasting there a few days ago that I can't find now. Apparently women really should not be doing long term intermittent fasting as it completely throws off their hormone balance but men can do it without any issues. Damn. I'm off for a fry up then. :)

    If anyone is interested Martin McDonald is doing a talk in Dublin on March 8 - aimed towards runners I think but it will cover a lot of the stuff discussed in this thread.
