Since yesterday, any time I try to open a link to an external site, I'm getting redirected to a page saying "Thread is now closed".

    Using iPhone 4S, iOS 6

Can you please give us an example thread ID/post number with the link you're clicking and also if you could copy the URL on the page with the "Thread is now closed" error that would be helpful too :)

I tried to put up links to this from my phone but I couldn't manage it :o

I'm not sure if it actually is a touch site issue though. I'm now posting from my work PC (Windows 7, Chrome). I put up links in this post (private forum) the other day. They were working fine when I posted them. Then someone PM'd me to say the links weren't working for them. I asked was anyone else having issues and they said no.

Today I tried to go to one of them and it wasn't working, none of them are now. Instead of the link bringing me to the correct URL, it is putting %2 in front of the http bit, and then quotation marks at the end. That sounds confusing. These are the URLs I'm getting when I click on those links, that should be linking directly to the website:

    http://%22http//www.porterhousebrewco.com/bars-dublin-temple.php%22
    %22http//www.porterhousebrewco.com/bars-dublin-central.php"
    http://%22http//www.messrsmaguire.ie/%22
    http://%22http//www.thelivingroom.ie/%22

    etc.

How do you post the links - do you write the URL code yourself or just let the automatic URL detection turn them into links itself? And on what site did you make that post - via touch or the main site?

I'm asking because the BBcode is wrong for those URLs. If you go to edit your post you'll see the following:

    [noparse]Google[/noparse]

See the two doublequote marks? They're not meant to be there, and that's what's causing problems. The correct way is:

    [noparse]Google[/noparse]

I copied and pasted directly from the website into the URL tags.

    Test.

That one's working fine and that's the exact same way as I posted the tags in that post, same way as I always do! It's strange cos they were working for me up until yesterday, one person had PM'd me the day they were posted saying they weren't working for him, and they seem to be working ok for everyone else!

Did you post on Touch or on the main site?

    From the main site.

I'll leave this open, I can't reproduce the issue myself but if others start reporting it or if you have further issues drop us links to the post in here.

I'm having the same problem on the touch website on nexus 7, iPod touch 4th gen and iPad 3. It's been happening for about a month and a half at this stage. I tried to find an example but this was all I could get. It's the second link in the first post that's causing problems.

That post was copy-pasted from a post the OP made in Feedback. As a result the URL didn't copy properly, so the link is broken. The problem is the lack of a protocol for the link (e.g. starting the link with http:// or https://).

    www.voodoobrown.com - Broken link

    http://www.voodoobrown.com - Working link

I've filed this in our touch bug tracker, we'll get to it as soon as we can.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
