What food do you have her on? 6 weeks is the younger side of weaning (normally 8 weeks) so you need an easily digestible kitten food. This is probably what is causing her flatulence. If you havent dewormed her yet, she will more than likely have worms too so that needs to be sorted asap. She could have a parasitic infection that's upsetting her gastrointestinal tract so if the food isnt right and she's not dewormed yet once you get these sorted she should be ok.

She could probably do with some pouches of wet food as well, a lot of cats aren't great at drinking and the pouches would provide that extra moisture.

Being on the third kitten this year (I'm a sucker for a tiny homeless or sick furry) I would highly recommend Royal Canin baby cat until 12 or 14 weeks, started two 4 week old kittens on it few months back and they thrived on it, the latest had never had solids and did great on it.
You can add a drop of warm water if you want to help get fluids into it, young kittens aren't great to drink when first weaned.
The kitten food is good too, its easy on their little tums, I tried other foods but the gas is awful and the litter tray is stink!
Also re worming, get some Parazole liquid and a small dosing syringe, the instruction are on box, you need to weigh kitten to work out dose and give each day for 3 days, repeat 2 weeks later.

Ok great it seems suitable for kittens 4weeks+ so you have her on the right track. If you get some liquid Panacur start deworming her if you havent already and see if any change within a week. You will need a few doses over a few weeks to get rid of all parasites though.

She's so young and her little digestive system is probably just getting used to the change from her mothers milk to dry food, so it just may be a little bit rich for her until she gets used to it. I would even try a bit of specialised kitten milk and a small bit of Propac and wean her onto it gradually.

Does she have runny poohs ? I had terrible trouble with my 2 lads when they were kittens , very bad diarrhoea & nasty farts ! Lots of vet visits later it was put down to irritable bowel ! It's been hit & miss finding a food that suits , the best being royal canin sensitive , although it is on the expensive side . I give them small bits of wet whiskas & tinned fish to keep them happy too , but too much wet or any dairy & the farts come back !

Once a vet is happy that she has no infections or worms etc it probably a matter of finding a food , best of luck .

Oh my vet had told me chicken & rice to help settle their tummys .

anyone know why my cat has orange eyes never see it happen before, he is a tom cat and 2 weeks ago he left and he's been with us since he was a kitten he just showed up at are door, but he had a strange life with us he drank oil when he first came to us, he then used to attack other cats by biting them he also started biting people too, we were told it was teething that was causing it and he also dribbled and he looked like he was drunk cause he use to hobble around the place, i hope he lives and does well for himself but in my oppion i doubt he will have lasted 2 weeks outside because he was so fecking lazy, we have 2 other cats both are female but are tom cat was called Mr Cuddles and believe me he wasn't cuddly at all

Did your vet do blood tests on him at all? My first thought is feline diabetes with possible liver problems aswell. Some cats can have yellow/amber tinged eyes but all of these characteristics combined would indicate possible jaundice with added diabetic symptoms (hind limb weakness, tiredness, eating and drinking odd things because they're constantly hungry and thirsty).

Thanks but he had his off and on periods where he was fine for a while, it usually came after we gave him something to stop flees and parasites, the only problem now his i doubt he will last on his own with outs us to feed him and look after him

Both conditions would be more chronic than acute, presenting on and off with varying mild symptoms for quite a long time before they get more advanced and obvious. It's only a guess though going by what you posted and impossible to tell though without blood tests. Very sorry to hear he's wandered off,im sure you're worried about him.

Do you give him the correct amount of flea treatment i.e. proper quantities per kilo of bodyweight?

i think so, not sure usually my brother gave him the flee treatment, but we got it from the vet and we gave it to him every couple of weeks

Ok well if it's bought from the vet it's probably the correct dosage, although flea treating every "couple of weeks" is excessive imho.

Anyway, the best thing to do when he comes back fingers crossed, is get your vet to do a full blood workup and go from there. Cats are so stoic and hide their problems very well, but it sounds like your fella could do with a good health workup when he shows up ;).

Like i said shes about 6 weeks old she weighs 700grams and its only a guess for her age the vet told me to feed her just the pro pack kitten and water and she would be just fine.. and next week we go for injections :)

But its not a bad idea worming her tho thanks..

there are also viruses which cause stomach upsets with associated smells - just saying it's not necessarily always the food, sometimes they just need time to clear the virus. I tried everything with the last strays I took in and nothing worked, but after some time it cleared up on its own.
