Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Copyright release and charges?

    Hi guys,

Just looking for a bit of advice please.

I regularly take some pictures at local sporting events. The local club have approached me and asked to buy some of my pictures for a yearbook and provide a copyright release for these pictures.

I don't see a problem with the copyright release but roughly how much should I be charging for the pictures. Any suggestions guys?

    thanks,

    D

You don't need to give them the copyright. It normally stays with you. You just have to grant them licence to use the images. This would be for their specific purpose, in this case publication in the yearbook. Then if anyone want to get a copy for themselves it's you that will get the sale as the copyright owner. Only supply processed Jpegs and keep your RAW files safe.

The cost is dependant on many factors. How many images? What is the distribution? What are you overheads? How good is the quality of the images?
I would set the price at a rate where they value your work but not so high that they will go elsewhere next year.
