    Should've been a peno there

Great play from Ade - that's what he can do that Defoe can't. Unlucky from Huddlestone

    Thudd nearly got a haircut

That should have been the second, brilliant from Ade.

Agreed. The amount of little but hugely important tackles he makes thoughout the game is so important.

    get dempsey off this pitch!!!!

a shocking pass from him and city damn near levelled.

the man cannot even make a pass

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,910 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

I'd whip Dempsey off, don't think he's completed a pass.

Have to agree about Dempsey. He's unfortunate because so much of our game is about pace yet he doesn't have enough, and ends up slowing things down.

City look rattled and easily royaled, very techy. Possible sending off perhaps.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,099 ✭✭✭gar

City are getting a bit ratty.
I could see them getting a red.

Dempsey off and Defoe on, we can attack this lot.

The ref is coming under a lot of pressure from the City players,so far he has done well not to give in to their constant moaning.

yeah but they should have had two penos :-)

get defoe or siggy on and take dempsey off, he is in the way

Have we been playing as cynically as everyone is saying on the soccer forum? I'm not watching the match today unfortunately.

    Seems the logical choice?

Can see red cards coming here, hopefully the ref ain't afraid to show it when it's due like Balotellis stamp on Parker last season.

Dempsey ain't up to much, doesn't contribute to the midfield at all. Can't see him bringing Defoe on though.

We are very very lucky to be 1-0 up still, they've been all over us!

No, definitely not. There have been a couple of soft fouls (and a dive or two) and City should've had 2 peno's, but I can't really disagree with any of the fouls they've given away.

The big question now is - was that our good half?! Let's hope we can keep the pressure up and maybe even sneak a 2nd.

Hopefully the ref has the bottle to hand it out unlike our mate Balotelli who got away with perforating Scott Parker last season and then scored the winner!

very very lucky so far in second half

every time the ball goes up, ade wins the header and dempsey is in front of him in the pitch instead of going behind him for the knock down

    someone wake him up

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,910 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

Gallas is experienced yeah? Looks like a rookie on todays performance. Only a matter of time before they score.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,290 ✭✭✭Leinstersqspur

It's too easy for them, we should throw on Defoe for Dempsey, at least he'd close them down quicker and scare their centre halves a little....

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,946 ✭✭✭SuprSi

Bugger. Huddlestone hits a ****e pass to Ade which is intercepted. He then doesn't track back to cover Vertonghen at left back which is where the finish came from. Very poor.
