Wow, very close match there with FRF, only won it due to the boot. 5 penalties kicked over the bar, those FRF boys must have been bold.

To the teams lower down the division dont give up Westmen had to wait until their third season before they won more than two games in one season with good management your team can become compettive and more enjoyable

He definitely played week 2 anyway, there's a few teams yet to accept the week 3 to week 8 fixtures. I'll send a reminder tonight so people logging in over the weekend will accept them.

When did you start playing? have a review of the Q&A threads and post if any questions. you can also post looking for advice in the season 17 thread on your league and if you wish you can post players and seek advice as to where they should play or sell them etc.

We all endeavour to help as much as possible, the more humans playing the more fun for all!

i think i'm on my 3rd season possibly (Ponyo), only getting a bit more into it now, buying the odd time when i happen to be near the deadline, started training my team up moreso as i think i may have been paying over the odds for old players, not sure where to place them really, need to really dive into the guides its alot of take in, especially team selection wise

There's a fairly steep learning curve alright, I would encourage you to sign up to the off sight and have a look at the u20's training section. you will see there what goals each position has and will learn what is important for each role quickly.

Can't link to it as it if blocked by work, but if I remember I will do it tonight.

Once the learning curve is mastered it is a very enjoyable game at any level, casual player complete addict who spends days scouting each match!

    Two small bits of advice...

    1. Pick a price initially and don't spend over it, until your comfortable with the TM. When I started I got too bogged down thinking that I needed every player I bid on and it got out of control. Now a days I look at a player and pick a max price. If your not sure about a max price, look at similar players on the TM, see what they are going for, and also see what you have in the bank...

    2. For the players that you brought and are unsure of their positions, look to see where their last manager played them, look at their ratings in those fixtures.

first thing i'd do is stop buying until i knew what i had and where they should be playing and how to play them

heaviest players in general are forwards
    fastest players backs
    balanced players back row centres
    best handlers kickers the halves
check your match reports and move players that are not playing best in that position
    read posts advice in lounges
    read game documentation

my team aint flash but if you stick with it you can have great fun ,the thrill of beating a live team that you dont expect to is wow:D

Well, yet again I've missed setting up my team by minutes, mere minutes! Kinda looking at the tactics in a strop, being a bit "well if I didn't get to pick a good team, what's the point in putting effort into tactics... uuughhh!"

Ah bless. Think Gideons are one of my bogey clubs too. Damn. If only there was a simple TNT option on a Thursday.
