Close at the top of division 3 after week 6 and while East Coast Tinders and Yermen are currently in the promotion spots one loss could see either drop out of them.

Gideons, Reaper and FRF will need to up their respective games if the trio don't want to drift to far from the rest.

Damn...didnt realise that FRF were doing so bad this season...coulda sworn we were better....miraculous escape from relegation needed now :(

Depends what you mean by 'decent'. It'll take a season or so to even properly understand it, but as time goes on you should get a better understanding of how everthing works and be default ( hopefully) become better. I'd say 3-4 seasons before you can start to develop a team properly, by that I mean financially viable and competative.

I do think it's good though that you can't become an instant success.

no change is positions this week I think, so everyone carry on!

Mauling bear seems to have gone into hibernation again and Dave and BJD should be looking to up their games to avoid relegation from the top tier at the end of the season. A gap is starting to open from the rest of group from bottom three at the half way stage.

Not sure what point you're at right now, but usually you start off in Div IV. Your starting team should actually allow you to be pretty competitive as you've mostly got bots to worry about. Buy in some players around 17-20yrs. Ideally you want 17 year olds, but they can be expensive, so nothing wrong with getting lads a bit older. As you play through Div IV they'll improve. Most teams tend to get promoted out of Div IV quite quickly, so you can expect a season in Div III where you're getting the crap beaten out of you, but again it's more time to train and maybe use your Div IV win money to invest in some better players.

You should try to avoid, as much as possible, buying players that are way too good for your team, but make you competitive in the league. Usually if you can afford them they're either old or flawed in some crucial aspect, so they're a long-term waste of money. At the moment I'm the weakest team in my league, so I've bought two players who are about 100k above my starting team. With luck it'll allow me to stay up, but any more veteran players would just kill my club long-term.

Don't be afraid to get promoted and then get relegated again. Usually two teams get relegated and then two teams take their place. That means, in theory, the other 6 teams in your league are better than you, especially if it's your first time. Spend a season in Div III, dip back down, bounce right back up and you should be far more competitive, especially if you've got your training and Monday friendlies sorted.

I'll take the key word train because you could get better in the short term by playing the transfer market effectively.

When i started (Apr 09 i think) i made it a priority to improve facilities and train youngsters. The 17 year olds i had at that time (i've still 2 of them) are now reaching their peak at 28 and 29.

Its a pretty long term type of game; part of the appeal for me. So in answer to your question do a good job training them and then wait three and half years!!

:D haha westman orizio has been around for about four years now! Doesn't play actively as much these days, he manages scorched earth. I was stuck in division 3 behind him for several seasons!

The Men Who Stare At Goats are awarded a penalty kick and decide to go for a goal kick. Caldera has taken too long to make the kick and the referee has called him on it.
Play will go to a scrum, Killarney RFC ball, about fifteen metres out from the try line.

    What a bullsh1t call!!

I'll double check this evening when home. I may have put the one in the wrong box (a formula does the rest!) I was doing it when tired on Thursday (first week back at training after injury!). I assume you are right though!

lucky I have you paying attention to pick up my second error of the season, disastrous stuff!! :p
