I was asked spread the word on this upcoming event.

Feel free to move if the mods think it is listed in the wrong area. John

"Weather and Health" is the subject of this year’s Irish Meteorological Society's One-Day Conference which will be held on Saturday, November 17th in the wonderful venue of the National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin, Dublin.

More details can be found at http://www.irishmetsociety.org/latest/iop-ims-conference-17-november

This significantly important all-day conference is an inaugural joint-event that has been carefully planned by the IMS and The Institute of Physics.

The programme for the day includes the following renowned and experienced speakers: Mathilde Pascal (French Institute on Health Surveillance), Senator and Professor John Crown (DCU and UCD), Dr. Helen McAvoy (Institute of Public Health in Ireland - IPH), Alone Representative (Alone), Dr. Paul Nolan (UCD), Dr. Chris Morris (University of Ulster), Gavin Maguire (HSE) and Gerald Fleming (Met Éireann).

The morning session will be chaired by Declan Murphy, former Director Met Éireann and the afternoon session will be chaired by Frank McGovern, EPA.

There is no charge to attend this conference and morning tea/coffee is complimentary. However, those intending to attend the conference should book early to avoid disappointment!

Please register online by visiting the Irish Meteorological Society (IMS) web site http://www.irishmetsociety.org

Doors open at 9.15am on Saturday morning at the National Botanic Gardens for registration and the Conference itself commences at 10:00am and continues to 16:00.

During the lunch break optional tours of the Botanic Gardens have been arranged for Conference participants
