Does anybody know who owns this?, I reckon it would be a great site for a Coffee Shop after a bit of a makeover!

Is that the place across the road from the Spar shop? If it is then i think the Clonsilla historical society either owns it or just meet there.

Never really looked at it before. Isn't parking and traffic a problem?

It would make a great coffee shop - something that Clonsilla badly needs. There is a small bit of parking and I think you can also park at the back of Charnwood and enter from there.

I bet Charnwood would love that!

Would love a bit of rear entry? Well sure, who doesn't once in a while :p

What's the current use of the Lodge? Looks like a little scout den or something.

Its a great resource to a lot of small organisations as a place to meet and converting to yet another shop would be a loss to the community.
There are plenty of other unused buildings opposite it eg. the Aldi site, Empty Sites at Mount Symon, the Petrol station etc. that could be better repurposed.

Its also listed as "G4: Active Green Space" - rezoning that for commercial/trading use would be very challenging.

Thanks for the link, some very interesting information. So would I be right in saying that based on the information from the maps, the actual name of the lodge would be Lohunda Park Lodge?

Thanks for the photo - thats great :) - But I think its then the other house I'm looking for a photo of...

The Lodge house in the village, is marked on the map attached.

And it seems to be the Lodge of a large building labelled as just "Clonsilla" (Not House) on the early 1800 maps - This building is now the Castlefield Estates - I put an Arrow to the location of the lodge house.

This building seems to have been renamed only in the later maps (1920's) to be "Lohunda Park"

Looking for photos of that building if possible - :) thanks.

You can see it more clearly here - by silding the overlay button in bottom left you can see modern maps over it.

Yes - it seems the official name is "Lohunda Lodge" - its mentioned as such ( a few times) in Fingal's Planning Guide for the Village...

Hi, could anyone forward the contact details to me please - I noticed there was some damage done to the building roof at the back over the weekend and i'd like to let them know.

    Thanks.
