Hi folks!! we are halfway through November already. This thread is for fun purposes only. Whingers whiners and begrudgers are not welcome to participate. For a bit of fun I am going to predict this winters weather, please include your own as well All forecasts are welcome whether it be mild zonal, warm tropical, bitingly cold or cool zonal :D

Winter Forecast the end of November all of December and January 2013;)

19th of November to December 7th Zonal cool with heavy rain and winds to start off with.High pressure building to the east of us over Scandanavia pushing low pressure westwards introducing cold easterly winds. cold dry at first with widespread frosts. The High to our east intensifying dragging much colder air over us snow showers beginnig to appear on the Eastern seaboard, The snow showers isolated and light at first (Confined to eastern seaboard) become more frequent and heavier.Frosts becoming more severe. More heavier and prolonged snow fall as low pressure undercuts the blocking high. winds vere east to northeast and strengthen further

7th - 19th of December we see a signs of the high pressure over scandanavia shift eastwards allowing low pressure to cross the country introducing milder temperatures with rain at times, the thaw that follows may cause flooding. Low pressure system bouncing off the High pressure to our East and dying out over the British Isle. (This is the time to do your Christmas Shopping if you haven't done so) Temperatures range from +7 to +12 degrees during the milder periods and -6 to +3 degrees during the colder periods

20th of December - January 3rd 2013. Sign of that blocking high shifting westwards once again damping down low pressure fronts from the west and introducing light to moderate easterly/south easterly winds. Becoming very cold once again with widespread severe frosts. Light snow shower appearing once again on the eastern seaboard, becoming more frequent and heavy as we head towards the shortest day of the year and more widespread as well as winds strenghten. Showers of Hail and Snow tapering off thereafter and being restricted to the Eastern seaboard. Christmas Eve and Christmas day will see Snow Showers some heavy and sometimes prolonged confined to the eastern southern and Northern seaboard. From St Stephens Day right up to New Years Eve/New Years Day Isolated hail and snow showers with Severe Frost at night Temperature range -15 to -2 degrees (mildest is the Southwest colder in the north and east). 2012 ends up being a cold year.

January 2nd to January 31st 2013. Signs that the high to our East starts to weaken and allows low pressure to cross the country. While temperatures rise a little and there will be a thaw we will have maritime polar infleunces from time to time bringing snow to the western part of the country the jet stream will stay well to the South. :D Overall a pretty cold winter;)
