    what are architects using for house design?

    for floor plans i'm guessing they are using AutoCAD....but for 3-D models and rendering what are they using??

    Some use pencil and paper to start their design process other's CAD or BIM Software.

    There's a number of packages on the market from Sketchup to 3DS Max and a whole lot in between. Many things influence what one uses, operating system of computer, budget , collaboration with others etc. Autodesk products would properly have the largest share of the market.
