Hi, just wondering does anybody know what the relevant legislation is for the above? Just an issue with regards to the authority staff would have in removing people from the premises.

There is lots of legislation in this area intoxicating liquor acts and possibly equality acts but a good start would be McGrath on Liquor Licencing http://www.bloomsburyprofessional.com/636/Bloomsbury-Professional-Liquor-Licensing-Law.html which has all Acts for the 1700's to 2000.

Thanks for that, but not really in a position to fork out that much!

Would this be the best guide to use?
    http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/2003/en/act/pub/0031/print.html

It's a tricky situation because the person who was removed from the premises is on the management committee of the premises but is not an employee, so would not be legally able to give the bar staff orders.

Given the time and books needed to be sure of your position you'd be better speaking to a solicitor. As Rwill has pointed out there loads of acts to wade though. In addition there is also common law elements - really a question for someone qualified.

If you are concerned about personal liability you could try FLAC.
