Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I love two strokes and Yamahas are great bikes BUT those RD500's were never a good bike They were only ever good for 10k before a major rebuild and I have yet to meet anyone that ever had one running right.
    It would break your heart.
    Not cheap either.

I'd two RD350YPVS's and always wanted the 500 but never had the money.

Although two mates at the time had the RD500YPVS and another had the RG500.

The rebuild's on most 80's strokers didn't cause most of us at the time a seconds thought ~ I pulled more DT's, RD's, RG's R7&5's etc etc apart back then than I could possibly remember.. Although I don't have a garage now, 'nor the energy for that I'd still love one :P

They have a cult following so they are always overpriced IMO.
Adventure bikes are popular now so they have a ready market.

Christ that was cheap. Yer man didn't look very happy on it - maybe he was depressed !!

A much better bike than the newer one, reliability-wise.

    I'd rather the RG500 than the RD500.
Its like anything, fashion and following the herd.
Once two strokes went away it was only a matter of time before they became sought after.
Now lots of guys that spent their youth riding these bikes have the disposable to actually buy one they aren't around anymore.

What do you guys think of this CBR1000f? 1600 seems a bit on the higher end but seems tobe the average going price!

Bit pricey for a 00. They've been going for less.

No mention of upgraded rear shock either :pac:

My favourite part of this is "Don't miss out on this very unique R1 in mint condition with many expensive hard to find parts recently fitted"

What happens when those parts break?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,025 ✭✭✭Wossack

its pretty serious spec by the looks of it though

he'd be better off parting the aftermarket bits out - might even get close to 5k on them alone

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,465 ✭✭✭✭cantdecide

It's a fantastic looking bike no doubt but come on like.

    What's it realistically worth? €5,500?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,784 ✭✭✭✭galwaytt

....it's all very well having high-spec brakes & discs but, as he says himself, these were the last set Brembo had. So, warp one disc and then what are you going to do - he's just told you they don't have any more of them..............

Lovely bike though, like the colour too.

It was the TL-S that had the widowmaker rear shock...

'08 Dullville with 18500 miles for €995 from Baldrick's in Kilkenny.

    http://www.donedeal.ie/for-sale/motorbikes/4427436

EDIT: Correct price added:D I'd say the lines were jamming in Kilkenny for a bit!!

EDIT EDIT: They also changed the title from "I'm a helpless spaz"...

Would that qualify as a DDrape?
