Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm just looking for a first bike, so no idea if I'm overlooking something with this bike, other than it being too powerful to start off on, but it looks like it's for nothing at this price...

That looks like a disaster, frame painted with horrible yellow paint, plenty of time spent on prettying it up but I would bet that it has some nasty mechanical things wrong with it.
They were a great engine and bike in their day but thats an old machine now.
Its too powerful for a learner.
    Keep walking...
This would be a better learner bike.

first i wanna say i am not related to RPM motorbikes Drogheda - Hill of Rath at all, but -> i just went there yesterday and got new set of pirelli angels ST - when i saw the deals

duchinni full face helmets for 50e - brand new like 15 diff colours and types. i am not saying to buy them for racing, but as spare helmet or someone who rides scoot - they are perfect. actualy they loooks amazing and for 50e ? i say its a steal.

gloves!!! ---> yes gloves --> 2 big boxes - one for 19€ each and second for 29€ each plenty colours to choose from - a perfect choice for my wife - much better then the lidl ones for 20e or so. as i was after some budget gloves i made my research before.

i though someone may need some bits so i wanted to share that.

    seen that before alright

if he still has the originals, he'd be better of reverting back to stock, and selling the shinys off individually

Paddy that bike has been for sale a long time now.. No way in hell is it worth that kind of money.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,465 ✭✭✭✭cantdecide

If he were offered half that, he'd be a fool to turn it down. It looks like a really cool bike that would be worth over-spending for but you'd seriously want your head examined if you thought you'd get that kind of money.

Sweet baby jesus preserve me. I have the cash, but I know it's a bad idea, seems too good a price to be right.... I can't trust a bike where something's wrong with the electrics!

Yeah I'm surprised that hasn't been snapped up yet. Great bike for pennies even if there are a few issues.

The downpipes like like they will need replacing too.

Its not easy to spot, but there looks to be huge corrosion on the bottom of the downpipe over the years from the rust.

From what I read, it's a common issue on Fazer's anyway.

If it's still available Monday I'm gonna ring. I can work out selling my own bike after, could maybe end up getting more for my own anyway. I know I can do the work on it at least, from what I've seen on youtube the clutch seems piss easy and the regulator not too hard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,788 ✭✭✭Vikings

Without wanting to insult the owner or anything that bike looks like it's never been cleaned and if it needs a regulator and new clutch god knows what the rest of the "maintenance" has been like. It's cheap for a reason!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,296 ✭✭✭SCOOP 64

Agreed , dont seem that much of a bargain.

    It's a fazer.

in fairness, even with a lack of maintenance, it's pretty bulletproof.

    my old 00, I paid 800e.

got my thru some trackdays, a iron butt challenge around ireland and a 10 day euro trip

with only tyres, air filter, oil changes.

at that price, treat it like an 850e bike and you'd have a blast; you wouldnt care if you dropped it or came off cos it only cost 850e.

    cheap fun.
