3 things that will get you work.

1) if your good enough people will thrust you.

2) spread the word. ie facebook, twitter

3) make sure the price is right. be cheap. if i had a choice between shop in town or someone i never met, id go to the shop if the price was the same. if you were cheaper, worth taking the risk id go with you etc

Think its hairdressing and not that line of 'night' work they are after unless i've grossly misunderstood!!

Actually OP there is a serious lack of places to get hair extensions done in Galway. I only just realised this because I'm looking for them at the moment.

I'd suggest doing a course in micro bead extensions (Hairspray in Dublin offer them) etc and then offering that service.
