    Hi guys,

I need to get into town tommorrow morning and I'm just wondering whether the 216 stops on Rochestown rd?? I have tried to find a map of the 216 to see what route it takes but can't find anything!! So frustrating trying the Bus Eireann site because it doesn't really give clear enough detail of the route.

    Thanks a million!!! :)

It does stop on Rochestown Rd as far as I know. The outbound route is Douglas Rd- Douglas Village- Fingerpost Roundabout- Rochestown Rd- (AFAIK- it uses the same stops here as the Passage West Bus)- Clarkes Hill - Moneygourney- Maryborough Hill ( Stops by the Paddocks here if any use)- Back to Douglas Village and onward to town via Douglas Road.

Im sorry now but I'm confused. It stops on Rochestown rd outbound but from the route you've listed in looks like it doesn't stop on the way back in?? Maybe I'm misunderstanding here :/

It does a loop and does not travel inbound on the rochestown road. You will have to pick it up outbound or else walk into the village and pick it up there.

Sorry Nursemar if I am causing confusion, its last stop on the route as such is on Clarkes Hill by Mount Oval. The route out of Douglas is the outward journey, this takes it along Rochestown Rd.

So the outbound leg of the route stops on Clarkes Hill, the return journey to town starts on Clarkes Hill then goes across the top of Moneygourney, then onto Maryborough Hill on onto the village.

It does not return via Rochestown Rd, it uses Maryborough Hill instead. There is nothing stopping you from getting on the bus on Rochestown Rd and staying on it at the terminus on Clarkes Hill. just tell the driver when you are getting on that you are going to town.

Thanks for the help! Turns out the 223 actually goes along Rochestown Rd into town so all sorted. Thanks :)

Working on making a route-map for 216 now if it's still needed :)

http://www.MapFab.com/map/Ih0/Route-216-Cork (working on this as we speak, so you'll see stop updates shortly and the return routes).

Oh, you can also find loads of other routes I made at my main thread: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057213615

So basically, the 216 only stops on Rochestown road on it's way into Mount Oval, but not on the way into City or CUH. Apparently 223 does however, and I'll plot that on a map for yez :)

    Route 223: http://www.MapFab.com/map/Ih4/Route-223-Cork

6:30 am or pm? If it is am you will not be able to get a bus because AFAIK services start at 7:00am

Eitherway the Carrigaline bus from town goes up Maryborough Hill, the return leg of the 216 goes down Maryborough Hill.

222 bus at 18:00. It goes from the street beside the bus station called Deane St so be careful you know where the stop is!
