If anywhere, I'd stick my money on Oxegen and TITP between Berlin and Austria.

Rihanna will jet into town once more to play Dublin's Aviva Stadium on Friday 21st June next as part of her Diamonds World Tour. The tour, which starts in the U.S. on March 8th, will take in 28 cities across North America before its European leg begins on May 26th, taking in stops in Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, The UK and Ireland.

Rihanna's 'Diamonds', the lead single from Unapologetic, has become the fastest-selling single of the pop star's career while the album - her seventh in seven years with Def Jam - is enjoying its status as one of the best selling albums of 2012.

Rihanna, you may recall, spent last Thanksgiving in O'Donoghue's on Baggot Street so we wonder if she'll spare a minute for a quick scoop in her local when she pops into town next summer.

Tickets for the Aviva show will go on sale from 8am on Friday 30th November and are priced from €59.50.

logged on at 8:03 this morning and got tickets for the missus gold circle and all 85 quid each including service charge thinking there would be a huge demand i got on early they were still available at like 12!

Anyone gimme any info on gold circle? whats it involve is it worth it? how many people does it hold?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,622 ✭✭✭✭okidoki987

It's certainly worth the extra €10 over normal standing tickets.
No idea how many will be Gold Circle though, depends on MCD.
You will be much closer to the front of the stage, again depends on how many GC tickets they sell but it would be around 2-3k for other concerts.

    Standing presale are still available.

Looking for some advice please. I will probably be getting tickets for this tomorrow as a present for someone. I wanted to know which would be the best tickets to get? Would standing/pitch tickets be better than seating/stand tickets?

That depends on the persons preferences (if seating is generally preferred or not). The closest to the stage you can get is with the gold circle tickets (standing). The closest you can get with seating are the blocks ending with _02 to _05 and _24 to _27. Check chart below. If in doubt, go for the gold circle tickets.

Thanks for the reply and help.

I think the Gold Circle tickets are only 10 euro extra, so they would be worth it. Do you know if the Gold Circle will be on sale in the morning or were they all sold out in pre-sale?

If the Gold Circle are sold out i suppose the lower seating (blue section) closest to the stage (the seats you have listed above) would be next best. They would probably be better than pitch standing.

Gold circle will be on sale tomorrow morning again.
The presale only gets a small amount of each section. When gold circle tickets sell out on presale, there are still 80%+ gold circle tickets left for the general sale.
(I got gold circle for myself too, as I think these are the best tickets available, even though I'd really prefer seating)

Standing are not sold out. They've just halted the sale of them to cause a panic and increase demand, like they always do.

If you want to guarantee a ticket, then go ahead and buy whatever's available now. But the standing tickets will come back on sale numerous times between now and the day of the concert.

What are people wearing if you are standing? Do we need Welles?!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,055 ✭✭✭JJ

They usually have a plastic covering at stadium gigs for the standing area so you don't need wellies.

  • Registered Users Posts: 73 ✭✭0e1

So what would be appropriate to wear? Shorts and a top?

I wouldn't wear shorts, chances are the weather will be crap like it was last week for Robbie. I got absolutely soaked through last week, even though the rain was on and off. Don't wear jeans that are long legged, once they get wet at the bottom the wet will creep up & you'll
Be soaked. If I was going again I'd either wear leggings or 3/4 length trousers. Or waterproof trousers would have you sorted but they're hard to find in shops.

Wear layers on top so if you're too hot you can take some off but if you're wet and cold you can add some. Outdoor gigs here are a pain in this weather but you'll have a great time &
    It'll be worth it!
