Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Evening all,

It's been reported today that an Oireachtas committee is looking for opinions on proposed new laws to allow politicians to investigate each other.

Now aside from the matter that the idea is likely pointless anyway, isn't this the same issue that was put to the people in a referendum last year and rejected??

I know Rabbitte was calling for a rerun of said referendum earlier this year, but is this now a way of slipping it in under the radar instead what with the focus being on the tragedy in Galway hospital (which "coincidentally" also came to light today - shades of the pronouncement that all learners were to be put off the road on the same day as announcing a big pay rise for themselves a few years back)

Is someone pulling yet another stroke on us?

EDIT: D'oh.. meant to post in main Politics forum :o Mods please move as needed!
