Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The digitiser and LCD are bonded together so make sure you don't buy them separately

You may need to replace the backlight coil and/or the screen as these usually get damaged with water exposure. It may be a case that the screen is fine & the coil is shorted. See if there is even a faint image on the screen.

What do people make of this website?

    Is it safe to use?

As in take the collect and return for the extra 25€ so i dont have to try open and fix it myself.

    Anyone use them before?

Price of screen depends on what iPhone, you didn't specify...
Check these guys out for repairs or parts: www.syncron.ie
You may have been better off returning it to Apple, read somewhere on boards that they have a fixed/max price for repairs and in some cases will cover out of warranty water damage as well (you'll get a new/refurbished phone). Think the price was around €160. Will see if I can find the post.

    -edit- found the info:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&geo=Ireland&product=iphone
    click "warranty and service pricing"
    iPhone Model Out-of-Warranty Service
    iPhone 5 €241.30
    iPhone 4S €211.30
    iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS,
    iPhone 3G, Original iPhone €161.30

and note: Certain damage is ineligible for out-of-warranty service, including catastrophic damage, such as the device separating into multiple pieces, and inoperability caused by unauthorized modifications. However, an iPhone that has failed due to contact with liquid may be eligible for out-of-warranty service.

No worries, I didn't click on the link in your post so didn't realise which iPhone you have (also didn't know about the huge price difference between models that apple charges for repair). I wonder though what your bill is gonna run up to, you already replaced the battery and now need your screen replaced but I doubt that would fix your flash issue, water damage could cause more probs later on...
