Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Have many used these so far, are they any competition to a wet shave?

I've yet to use an electric razor that was a good as a wet shave. This one is pretty good though, IMO.

Managed to pick one up in Crescent, Limerick today. Parents paid and have put it away til Christmas. Looking forward to trying a dry shave. Just seems more convenient as a wet shave can be rather time consuming if you are in a rush in the mornings. Thanks OP.

This has always been the standard shaving plug type in this country.

I remember in the 80s when my grandfather had one. I dont have an elextric shaver socket. have to get an adapter I guess.

Thanks OP. picked up my reserved one yesterday in Liffey Valley. Boots are selling these at half price for €97

Any chance of a code for Dublin or Naas please lads. Many thx

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,853 ✭✭✭bromley52

I could be incorrect but as far as I am aware all electrical devices sold in ROI are by law to be sold with a standard 3 pin plug. Most merchants will give you an adaptor if asked. Cutting the 2 pin would usually void warranty.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,920 ✭✭✭billy few mates

That's because they're designed to be used in bathrooms which according to the regulations should only have 'two pin' sockets installed to prevent you trying to use electric heaters or hair straighteners etc when you're sitting in the bath...!

My own shaver (similar model to this) also came with the two pin plug and I picked up an adaptor for a few cents, but to be honest its not a huge problem because they hold the charge for weeks if not months. When I first got mine I charged it up, when it next needed charging it had been so long since I'd last charged it I had to go looking for the adaptor again. I use mine almost every day and I reckon a charge lasts easily for six weeks, it also gives you plenty of notice if it needs a recharge.
I travel extensively for work and I never bring the charger with me.
