Just make sure you go to Thomond Park and not the evil twin that lurks around the corner Thomand Park

if its anything like the RDS gigs, you can show up around 2/3 and comfortably get in the pit :)

If you que now I guarantee it.

Lads were queuing in the UK 3 days before hand for the pit from what I heard.

I'm heading with my mammy so I'll be seated for the first time at a Springsteen gig. Anxious enough that it'll be as awesome as the others!!

Whats the story with beer in the ground and at your seat before during and after the gig?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,905 ✭✭✭bucks73

In the RDS the bars were outside the playing arena/pitch but there was no problem bringing anything inside then so I presume the same will apply.

Coming out from the city, Curragower Bar on Clancy Strand, JJ Bowles behind Jack Mondays coffee bar, near the Treaty Stone.

On the Ennis Red, the Strand Hotel or the Ardhu Bar further out.

Licence granted for late opening in town after gig :D

    http://www.limerickleader.ie/lifestyle/entertainment-arts/music/springsteen-set-to-rock-thomond-with-grant-of-event-licence-1-5267549

    As to question in quote from relaxed...this from the blurb;

"....Other details include that alcohol sales at the gig will be limited to beer and wine only and that the numbers of gardai on duty at the event is to be agreed in advance between Aiken and local Garda management.."

Will Shannon Rowing Club on the Bridge be open prior to the concert?

If the weather holds like it is now then that's some spot to visit on the way. Fabulous clubhouse.

What's the story with parking? Have never been to Thomond. Are there spaces at the venue?

    Not for the public.

For rugby - LIT is usually open and available

Nearest Car Parks are in the city centre about 20 min walk.

On Street parking usually restricted to residents only in the local housing estates but Ennis Rd, O'Callaghan Strand and Clancy Strand are generally ok, note there may be disc parking for on street if you park during business hours - check the signs.

Some people use Dunnes Stores and Woddies but I think that's being discouraged by security.

Park & Ride operate from Southcourt, Radisson and Kilmurry Lodge hotels for Munster games, not sure if they will for the concert.

Perhaps they were waiting to go in to work. I passed yesterday and it was wide open with a lot of people inside getting it ready.

1st one was at an entrance on the East Side, the other two are in the grass bank over the Dugout bar.

Bigger queue there this evening, possibly over 100!
