Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Your having a laugh right? No where in the world apart from the UK is gambling so accepted as an everyday thing than Ireland. I have seen people from other countries shocked when I said I regularly walk into a shop and place bets and these shops are on every street in the towns and cities, never mind that its one of our national pass times done by everyone from children to pensioners.

And I thought the amount of Casinos in Holland was strange :)

He is correct, just look to the US. They don't have bookies anywhere near as regularly as we do. I think they are banned in most states.

Casinos are illegal in Ireland...forget about the pissy little bookies we have no high roller profiles. We're hardly Macau now are we...

Why do people go to Monte Carlo or Las Vegas and not Ireland?!

Off track bookies are illegal everywhere in the US except some counties in Nevada.

There's three places in the world with all these casinos you're going on about-Macau, Monte Carlo and Las Vegas, Ireland is hardly the lone state in the world without these mega casinos. People don't go to Ireland precisely because we're not Las Vegas. It's the same as saying why do people go to Spain for sun holidays and not Iceland.

Technically casinos aren't illegal in Ireland either, they're just not legislated for, it's a fairly grey area hence all the private members 'clubs' which are de facto casinos.

The one thing I missed about Ireland... was the food, not so much the food itself, but the flavour.... even getting sweets that were sent from home like crisps or chocolate was like eating "bliss" itself.

Its not until you leave that you will realize just what it is you miss about home.
