Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Enrique has been amazing. The awareness he showed to play that for Johnson.

As good as Suarez has been and his 2 goals, Enrique has been my MOTM.

That early substitution looks great now

    Agger off - Carra on

Did it change the shape or just the personnel?

Spurs, Everton and Newcastle all getting beat, it's turning out to be a good day.

I think it moved Gerrard forward into Suso's position and Henderson slotted in beside (maybe slightly ahead of) Allen for the remainder of the first half. From I can tell, we switched to a 4-1-4-1 after HT

Changed shape. Put us at a more 4-3-3 system with Henderson providing the legs in beside Allen and Gerrard which allowed us to get control of the ball and start working our game.

Wigan actually had the majority of the possession up until that point and it was only after that we started to get the ball and pass it around.

Edit: Actually, Saul could well be right with that 4-1-4-1 assessment. What has being evident is the fact that those four behind the striker have really pushed on and actually tried to join the attack as much as possible, with maybe one from Gerrard or Henderson staying closer to Allen.

Thought Reina was going to do one of those FIFA runs when you're taking the p*ss out of the person you're playing against.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,438 ✭✭✭livinginkorea

Luis off now...pity he couldn't get a third. Jonjo on.

Suarez off....stick Enrique up front for the laugh.

That's one thing I will give 'The Rodgers' credit for, too many times last year we looked like we wouldn't be able to change things or get back into a game after going behind.

Two games in the row Rodgers identified his mistakes and changed it for the better early on. Good to see he has that ability, although obviously I'd prefer he got it right from the start. :p

Yeah he deserves a mention. He added some much needed industry and work rate to the midfield. Himself and Allen look like they could form a decent base as the two which would give the attackers much more freedom. Lucas due back too in the next few weeks.

We went 11 games unbeaten under Kenny Dalglish September 21 to December 05 2011.

Its ok, i know who the manager was. That run included draws against Swansea, City, United, and Norwich and 2 league cup games. I wonder how you felt about all those draws.

Looked harmless enough...Terry one last week looked a lot worse and the latest I heard was he will be out 3 weeks.

Jesus, seemed to be a fairly innocuous "coming together".

Martinez just said in the after match interview it was broken. Pretty harmless looking collision though!

I think Brendan either smashed his playstation or has told him he can only play it if he has a great game .

I'm more poking fun at these folks who completely rubbished him in the last few weeks. Apparently he's too one-footed. Apparently he's no good defensively. Apparently when he goes forward, he's liablity. Apparently he's got no intelligence. The list goes on and on. Even against Chelsea, when neutrals thought he was decent, segments of our own support criticised him. It's just bizarre. Reina is getting the same treatment at the moment, even though he's the best goalkeeper this club has had in my memory (that includes Dudek and Grobbelaar).

Anyone remember the Enrique theory on here a few weeks ago.

The general consensus was that he was spending too much time working on his muscles.

And that as a result of all this, it was affecting the way he runs.
