The Tom Walsh Memorial 10k race course records were set last year by Michael Carmondy of Limerick AC finishing in 31:52mins in the mens category and Angela McCann of Clonmel AC finishing in 38:15mins in the female category. Are you ready to challenge these great finishing times?

2nd year of this race and very well organised again. Really enjoyed it.

Great turnout again, flat 1st half with a challenging few hills from 6k to 9k, serious chance to let rip over the last km, all downhill to the finish.

Serious spread afterwards in the hall, soup, brown bread, selection of sandwiches, biscuits, cakes, water, tea etc... all served with a huge smile from the very nice ladies.

    Friendly atmosphere throughout, scenic countryside.

Well done to all involved, looking forward to seeing you all again next year.

The results show my time as being 14 seconds quicker than what I timed on my own watch.

Anyone else with a similar discrepancy?

Sean Hehir winner of the Tom Walsh Memorial 10k with Jim Hogan gold medal winner in the marathon of the 1966 European Championships. Jim was aso ran against the Ethiopian Running Legend Abebe Bikila in the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo. A perfect picture, two of Ireland's great runners

Kinda funny having the patriotic Ireland blazer considering he switch allegiance and won the Euro's and also competed in 68 Olympics for GB

He felt betrayed that no Irish official/doctor explained to him about hydration between the 10,000m and marathon event in 64.

I remember reading his book and I think that was one of just a few reasons why he left (most stemming from the organisation)

Wasn't having a go trust me, I am the last person to start the whole GB/IRE ill informed nonsense. Just thought it was humourous given this was an AAI permit event given his ill treatment in the past (admittedly it wasnt the AAI back then)

Maybe because the blazer still fits him :)

Jim was invited by Tom's family because he knew Tom Walsh & his family well and he ran & trained with Tom for years.
