I'm looking for recommendations of some really sour sweets (preferably jellies).

    Some that I've tried:
Haribo Tangfastics - they're ok but not as sour as I'd like
The Natural Confectionary Company - only a little sour really
Maynards Sour Wine Gums - very disappointing!

Any other brands you could recommend? Cheers!

You said sour and Toxic Waste instantly popped into my head. It's not a jelly unfortunately but if you really want sour, look out for these babies. They can usually be found at the sweet factory stands for about 2-3 euro.

Never seen these before! I'll check out the Sweet Factory next time I'm in town. Thanks!

Barnetts Mega Sours aren't bad either, available in your local Aunty Nellies, Mr Duffys, Mr & Mrs Maguires, Uncle Albert's, etc :)

Try Sour Patch Kids, they are only new out and have a pretty strong punch. Better than anything you have listed.

The sourness is usually citric acid. you can buy bags of it in asian supermarkets for making sweet & sour dishes. It looks like ganulated sugar, the stuff on fizzy cola bottles is probably a mix of sugar & citric acid granules.

You can wet & dip your semi sour sweets in this stuff to get them extra sour.
