Legal costs when buying a house?

    Im currently looking at a partially consructed house worth 80k and im costing for a mortgage and dont have a clue what solicitors fees will be? any help would be apreciated.

    Hi there

    You could be looking at the €2-3000 mark. (800 for stamp duty and then registration fees in that too). Wer just completing our purchase for just under €100,000 and we got an estimate of €2,800 so hoping it won't be much more than that. Of course solicitors fees vary but Hope that helps.

    We're paying €1850 including vat for the conveyancing process. We're building our home and are in the process of purchasing the site. Hope this is of help.

    very much depends what part of the country you are in... dont be afraid to price solicitors the same way you would price any service/product. Just completed a sale in Donegal... solicitor fees aprox. 1200euro & stamp duty. I sent an email around every solicitor I could find an email address for... its not just bnuilders who are quiet!
