This focus I seen today the whole engine was actually covered in oil I mean saturated I was shocked I never seen that this wasn't some small leak. The seller turns around and says sorry I never got a chance to clean it there was like a layer of cut crash in the boot. And yet dispite all this in the pics in the ad the van didnt look that bad.

You're probably right but 3 sets of alloys with spare included. Not bad.

I'm gonna order some plastidip to renew the door and bumper plastic strips. I had some crazy ideas then... tempted to use it on the badges and lettering but I don't know if that will be too much. It's black plastidip that I'm going to get.

    Something like this...

and the chrome on the front grille too. Of course mine isn't anything close to an E class. :( :P

    Is that too much?

AFAIK, althought I could be wrong, he got a weeks ban a while back and hasn't been back since. He's still active in AH.
Sure lash him a PM and find out, no use just speculating.

Does plastidip work well on plastic trim?

Has anyone tried it anywhere and seen how long it lasts?

Both front grilles on my car have been PlastiDip'd for a year now. Still looks just as good as it did the day I did it. Power wash and wash Mitt wash just the same as every other part of the car and no issues with it yet. :)

The only thing you need to be sure of is that the surface you're applying it to is properly clean. No other prep required.

Actually just a thought, is there anything that can be done about stupidly dangerous patches of road (most likely due to crap repairs) ?

There's a spot just outside Athlone on the M6 (so 120km/h) where the camber of the road flips pretty much instantly. Much like this tbh from one second to the next

What'd you use to clean it?

Warm water with Fairy washing up liquid.

Was going to ask pretty much the exact same.
I assume the risk of the entire wheel stress cracking and falling apart would be high.

@ colm I'm guessing its old stock that wasn't sold for a few years? Or wasn't registered till 05? The last of those cars were made in about mid 2001, early Stilos are 01
I've seen a few 02 Bravos with aircon but 05 is a new one to me! :)

As for the wheel there's plenty on google like that. Not Irish, whoever it is mustn't value their own safety or even common sense atall

I was just on a ford fourm advising some lad against this. Hey had templates printed out and all lol. I can imagine his thinking 'Oh that looks about right' starts drilling then . I posted that pic to show him and hopefully he will think twice about it.

Was out at a body shop seeing how much it would be to sort out my rusty arches/bubbling paint work. Looks like 500 quid. Bit of a pain, but I thought it was actually going to be worse than that. I've used the guy before and his work is always top notch.

Sure she's an economical write off then :pac:
