Got sms from co-worker. Asked if i am selling Ford... Some friend wants to buy it.

Told her 200eu and they can take it as it is. good old fordie was a great horse. If it can help someone else, they may it be!

Its my birthday this month, so that would be 200eu to spend on lego! :o

My birthday early next month. And my girlfriend has already got the Lego for me. It was in the boot of my car and all, taunting me. Only 5 weeks to wait

Can't beat the aul Lego. I've the VW Splitty Camper Van to do and can't wait to get at it!

On another note I'd a brilliant day today. A friend of mine recently got back a '75 MGB softop that he bought 2 years ago. It had being lying in a shed up North for 22 years and he got a crowd in Belfast to do a total restoration. Car is like new. And to beat it all it had only 38k miles done!

Well today we spent about 3 hours doing back roads of Kildare with the roof down the whole time. A feeling you can't beat, its what motoring is all about.

Manager at work wants to buy my car within the next 3 weeks. He has been asking about it for months. could be a good way to get rid of it. 3 weeks to find something to buy aint easy though

I think anyone under 35-40 shouldn't even have an e60 idea unless it's specifically to have an M5... :pac:

Same goes for the aul Saabs. They're just not aimed towards younger people.

i like owning cars that younger people wouldnt usually drive though :)

an e60 would be nice but more than what i want to spend for performance received really. and i wouldnt like trying to maintain it parts wise

:( The golf that he just put up on the "post a pic of your cat thread" is up on donedeal in the classics section.

I see that the contact name on the ad is Carl so I was wondering if he used to be Cgal:confused:

The high pressure feed let go, pissed the oil everywhere almost killing the engine and turbo in one swoop. The lovely new Millers oil I'd just put in is now all over the yard.

I'm quite annoyed at the whole episode but glad it happened at home, not while driving

New pipe and filter will be ordered asap

You've obviously never driven a Saab 9-5 properly.

You have your options narrowed down - E36/E46 BMW or an Audi TT. Easy decision :P

Top Gear was absolutely class tonight!!!

The normal ones are a bit boaty cornering, to be fair.

Ah, I drove a 9-5 Aero. Big difference I assume.

    cooper s/325/93 aero

    Ah that sucks :(

Out of the 3 of those, I would go 325 because I have never been in or driven the Cooper S or 93 but I would imagine the cooper is a hoot and a half!! Is the S supercharged?

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,157 ✭✭✭✭Alanstrainor

The old S is supercharged alright. Would love one.

Am I the only person who just does not like the new Minis? I just think they are big and ugly and a diluted fake of the real thing. They might well be fantastic, but even if they were the best car in the world ever I still wouldn't have one.

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,854 ✭✭✭✭MetzgerMeister

Lemme guess, the new one is a bloody diesel???? :pac:

Nope, turbo 1.6 petrol. R53 is supercharged and r56 is turbocharged.
There ain't really any nice 325s catching my eye though, nor any 328/323 e36s. There's two opc corsas gone up in the last week but both have pretty high mileage.

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,854 ✭✭✭✭MetzgerMeister

I have a feeling that it's going to be more of a nightmare for everyone here than it will be for you in picking your next car :pac:

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,238 ✭✭✭Ardennes1944

Well you know what it was like last time :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,575 ✭✭✭166man

In my very uneducated opinion Ardennes, I'd have the Cooper S Supercharged.

Could very easily see one of them being a car I own in the next few years tbh.

Just because its called Mini? If it was called the usual BMW name like would it be OK?

I would like it if it was it's own thing, if that makes sense.

If it didn't look anything like a mini I would probably like it (provided it didn't look like a bag of shoite). I don't mind it using the mini name much like VW keep using Golf.
