Got sms from co-worker. Asked if i am selling Ford... Some friend wants to buy it.

Told her 200eu and they can take it as it is. good old fordie was a great horse. If it can help someone else, they may it be!

Its my birthday this month, so that would be 200eu to spend on lego! :o
I paid 200 for a mondeo and it was a heap of crap. Did what had to so no major complaint from me, but yours is better condition id say - dont drop below 200.

    My next car will be an E60 535 touring. I just haven't decided if it'll be an i or a d. And I'm a long way off 35 :p
Yeah don't mind him, outside Ireland there are teenagers in 7 series, let alone something as normal as a 5.

In your case it will be a D unless you are planning to emigrate to the US though! 535i e60 was never sold in UK/IE. :D

Well my one still has 2 months nct. In fact I got nct for it and 2 months later it went offload as I bought scooby. So mechanically it should be spot on. Yes, it's rough as **** outside, but I don't care about that as it was to travel from A to B.
It was off road quite a bit now, so inside it got a bit off damp. I just cleaned up the "fungus " of steering wheel.
I told them 200eu and take it as it is, they know what they getting, so if they will start bull**** "oh, here's the scratch, give me 50eu off", then they can feck off right there.
It is not asking for food and it is my escape capsule if something wrong happens to main cars. So it can sit there as long as it needs. Even if. Will need to get wrid of it, I can get at least 100eu from scrapers or put it on Donedeal for 200eu again. Old simple bangornomics cars like this are disappearing rapidly. There will be always someone who needs a cheap banger.

Nope, turbo 1.6 petrol. R53 is supercharged and r56 is turbocharged.
There ain't really any nice 325s catching my eye though, nor any 328/323 e36s. There's two opc corsas gone up in the last week but both have pretty high mileage.
I love corsa OPC and it was on my list to buy. It's a lovely little thing. There is one "crap" about them. Third banger always goes "boom" in these. Problem is they put 190hp in to these engines, but they left factory spec, non heavy duty .... ( ****, here goes my language barrier... I swear the feck I forgot the word ) cylinder rods? Cylinder "legs". Lol sorry.

Still though, if you get that sorted and put some heavy duty internals that little car is a damn pocket rocket.

I've had two r56 turbo'd Cooper S (one Clubman, one convertible - go ahead and laugh). More smiles per mile even than my 4.2 l supercharged lump. Just make sure you go manual, my one regret on changing is that my second has an auto box. I just miss the manual - my driving was 60 central London, 40 open roads so lots of gear changes, lots of exhilarating short bursts of speed. Still fun on long motorway journeys (mostly over to Ireland and even did Cork-Dublin on first day of full motorway running). Run flats a no-no, however.

Why would you want a 3 series?

how to tax the car thats not in my name but nctd and insured with me ? I dont have the renewal form or online pin. ... just waiting for the log book to come back from shannon, posted it on Saturday there ! h

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,793 ✭✭✭coolisin

Google the tax form, print it off fill it in credit card, or cheque, all your details required etc think its form rf101 or something like that.
Will take a couple weeks to process.

Or just go to the tax office fill in the same form get it all sorted then and there.

the interiors of the minis arent great though. plastics look cheap as hell!

My Clubman was a launch model for dealers so ad every conceivable uprated trim iten and extra (except, bizarrely, Bluetooth) and the convi is not as highly specc'd but certainly not filled with cheap plastic (cream leather interior). Certainly, passengers have expressed positive views on interiors (drivers of Alfas, Mercs, VW, Civic and Range Rover). Have you only seen pov spec versions? Some trim pieces can be changed by driver - maybe buy the one you like mechanically and upgrade interior?

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,238 ✭✭✭Ardennes1944

i know the r56 interior is a bit nicer than the r53s alright, but 0631d1j_20.jpeg
the centre console is mank enough

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,335 ✭✭✭✭Marcusm

What age is that one? It certainly looks poor compared to either of mine. The upper glovebox is a completely different shape and so is the central console. Switches, AV unit etc are completely different on mine. I would agree that looks fairly gick.

This is more like the ones I've had. My earlier one was a 2007. May not be the best photo but I think it looks better. That being sad, the interior is very Mini, like it or loathe it.

its a 2003. talking about a high spec r56 and normal cooper s r53 is a big difference though

Looks like the interior change coincided with model change so you'd need 2k extra at least. I've never driven the r53. One of the guys I worked with got rid of his because of the harsh ride on run flats. I let him drive mine a few times for work - I recall now that he was very complimentary. Since then he's moved not a GTD and an XF. He still hankers after another Mini but I think that's a mid life crisis issue (he's 52.)

The dials and interior on those Mini's is the only thing I really can't stand about them. Makes them look far too much like a toy car for my liking. Shame because a nice Cooper S is quite nice on the outside for a dinky thing. :)

The R53 only really looks good on the inside if someone else spent decent bucks on options like the chilli pack, twin dials, leather, upgraded stereo etc. and you reap the rewards buying secondhand

    FYP :)

I'm fairly certain I passed a Mini Paceman a couple of weeks ago.

It's a rather unusual looking creation

Getting confused myself with all the versions. Paceman better than the coupe IIRC, although pretty much everything is better than the coupe imo. I actually like the clubman. Not sold on the countryman though.
