Days like today remind me why I learned to drive.

    It's soooooo warm inside.

Decided for the first time to go to the gym today. Really enjoyed it, now to lose 20kg. I don't like being out of breath in 10 mins.

If you lose that 20kg and I find it, it's mine...... :p

    Absolutely sickened.

Brought my 4 ST alloys in to a friend there to get the tyres taken off and 3 of them are buckled and all 4 tyres are banjaxed (2 are brand new in terms of thread depth but have a nail right through the centre of them)

Have 2 Goodyear Assy 2's here in the shed ready to go on and 2 more ordered and the €260 or so quid ready to drop them in to get powdercoated satin black in my pocket about to drop them in today.

Gonna bring them in to Leahy engineering to see how much it would cost to remove the buckles (won't tolerate anything in terms of one on wheels im gonna be paying to powdercoat and put almost 600 quid of rubber on after putting up with the fecked wheels on it already for ages)

    Feck Feck Feck

Might be cheaper to just get some new 18 inch RS wheels. So annoyed just when you think you have a problem sorted another spanner in the works.

3 buckled wheels and 2 nails through tyres all at once.... Did you join the lads on Top Gear driving through Africa or what? never heard of anything like it.

Didn't notice the nails as they were stacked up in the shed covered, both sets of wheels seem to be buckled fella must have confused the car with a Kuga

I was just driving behind an english reg escort, noticed that the back wheel or hub was buckled, badly! He pulled into a garage, I pulled in after and told him. He was very grateful, said "the car was all over the place and I couldnt figure out why"

Thats my good deed for the day.....watch out everybody else:D

Its now been a full tank since the terraclean, My mpg has gone up about 7%
car is still smoother and revs easier. I haven't had a dpf regen yet should be due one on the motorway tomorrow, itll be interesting to see if it happens when I think it should, or whether the terraclean effected the buildup rate there too!

None of this is very scientific btw, my driving is too varied to bother doing a tank to tank comparison.

The ST alloys are far nicer than the RS ones, I actually really don't like the RS alloys, they look bland

Where are you getting them powder coated? I've a set to get refurbed here and looking for a decent price. There just st170 alloys but the flaking and corrosion is bad on them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,238 ✭✭✭Ardennes1944

Got my DA today, dad came in and asked how much? When I told him he almost fainted but then came back and said what he always does when it's car stuff...."I suppose you could be drinking it away" :)

Where are you located? I got my RX8 alloys done by Carlow Coatings and apart from the colour (my fault) the job was 100% flawless.

I'm near the red cow N7. I have heard Tallaght powder coaters name mentioned a few times. So I will bring one in for a quote. Anyone used them before?

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,298 ✭✭✭Supergurrier

I would have gone to them but it's too far away

I may have strained the exhaust on a crap weld on Friday when changing the high pressure feed, it's broke.... With college tomorrow, I'll have to weld it in the morning before college, refit it and go off on my merry way. That's the plan anyway :)

2 hours of opposite lock later and 1 more wish ticked off my bucket list..
the satisfaction off witnessing bmw and mercs etc etc getting stuck while i breezed past will stay with me until the day i die .awd ftw!

I think I gave an old fella heart attack today! :)

After work I had to go in to town and jump in to GameStop quick. Being after work I was not in the most cleanest pants and just plain hoody.
So like always I park my car in small car park, pay the few and off with my business. When I came back I still had an hour +++ on parking ticket. I sow some old fella just about to pay at the machine. I shouted: "excuse me! Excuse me!" And walked near him. Now I am a big fecker and my accent did not helped there. So he froze up and watch me come closer.
I came closer and showed ticked and said: "here you go, there is an hour on it". His scared face turned in to smile. He thanked me and was prety happy. :)

I need to work on my "communication skills" I guess :D
